The definitive farewell of one of the most iconic figures in ECW history already has a confirmed opponent. The Sandman, who had announced months ago that 2026 would mark the end of his career in the ring, will face his last match this April against an opponent as unexpected as symbolic.

The retirement match of The Sandman will take place on April 17 at Joey Janela's Spring Break X, an event that will be held at the Horseshoe in Las Vegas, Nevada. It was Joey Janela himself who revealed the name of the opponent through social media: the last opponent of The Sandman will be The Invisible Man.

At 62 years old, The Sandman leaves behind a legendary career marked by his central role in ECW, where he won the World Championship five times. He was also a tag team champion alongside 2 Cold Scorpio and, years later, was part of the ECW Originals group during the brand's stage under the WWE umbrella, even competing at WrestleMania 23.

His last match to date took place in October of last year, when he teamed up with Yaya The Gremlin to defeat Nyeim Brooks and Vincenzo at the GHW Halloween event held in New Jersey.

On the other hand, The Invisible Man is a cult figure in alternative wrestling. He debuted in 2012 and has been a regular at the most chaotic events of Joey Janela's Spring Break, standing out especially in Clusterf*ck matches, where he even became the winner. His story includes impossible rivalries, fictitious deaths, and even more absurd comebacks, making him the perfect opponent for an unconventional farewell.
