At the Raw after WrestleMania 31, Sheamus made his return to the programming after a five-month absence. However, much of the impact generated by the Celtic Warrior was not due to his return itself, but rather his new look. The Irishman came back with a completely revamped appearance that left no one indifferent.

Sheamus had gotten a mohawk in his hair, leaving behind the classic hairstyle he had worn for the past six years to opt for a large crest. Not only that, but he also styled his beard by making some small braids.

In an interview with Chris Van Vliet, Sheamus revealed that he did not inform anyone at WWE about the aesthetic change he had made, something that angered Vince McMahon himself: "The cool thing about this was that I angered the management on that occasion, because I didn't ask for permission, I just did it. I think I had been out due to an injury, and I felt stuck. And I had already worked as a babyface. I just thought, I need something different and cool, right? So I did it, and I think Vince got very angry because I didn't tell him I was going to do it", the Irishman said with a laugh.

According to Sheamus, not even his own mother knew about the change in appearance, and when she saw her son's revamped image, she called him crying.

In the conversation, the former World Heavyweight Champion also confirmed the origin of the hairstyle idea. The Irishman stated that he thought with a new appearance he looked strong and tough, distancing himself from the babyface position he had held in previous years. However, the reaction he received was not what he expected. "I did all this, my beard and all the braids and everything, and I thought, man, I look great, I look tough, I look like a real ass-kicker. I'm going out. I think I attacked Wade and Bryan. I went out, I looked tough and I thought people were going to say: this guy looks great. Then, some idiots in the audience started chanting 'you look stupid'," explained Sheamus.

Currently, the Celtic Warrior is in a rivalry against his close friend Rusev. Although they have already faced each other in different episodes of Monday Night Raw, the enmity between them is far from over.
