Ronda Rousey caught everyone's attention after her unexpected appearance at AEW Revolution. The former WWE superstar made her entrance just after her friend Marina Shafir finished her match against Toni Storm to confront the latter. At that moment, many thought that "The Baddest Women On The Planet" had reached some kind of agreement with All Elite Wrestling. However, it was just an appearance to promote her return to MMA.
The news reassured a good part of Tony Khan's company fans, who had already expressed their opinion on Rousey with a lukewarm reception at the stadium. This afternoon, the former WWE Women's Champion has posted a new edition of her Vlog on YouTube, where she acknowledged that that appearance was like saying "screw you" to TKO.
"I'm thinking about a less restrictive and more adult version of WWE, which sounds pretty good. It's a kind of cool little 'screw you' gesture to the TKO group, because WWE is on Netflix, but I thought it would be easier to ask for forgiveness than permission. I'm promoting a show, it's no big deal. We didn't advertise it. It's not like we boosted ratings. It should be fine," Ronda said about her appearance at the AEW PPV.
Rousey left WWE in 2023 after a second stint in the company that she did not enjoy. The wrestler lost the trust and support of the fans, as well as being an unpopular figure backstage due to her personality. In fact, some workers have described her as an "ungrateful" person.
Her discontent with WWE has led her to criticize the company and the wrestling business in general in recent years. A detail that fans will not easily forget, as evidenced by the cold reception the wrestler experienced at AEW Revolution. Meanwhile, Rousey is preparing for her return to the octagon to face Gina Carano in a special event scheduled for May 16. The show will be exclusively broadcast on Netflix, the international television home of WWE Raw.
