Next Monday, Penta and Rey Fenix will face each other in an unprecedented match in WWE. The Lucha Brothers will go head-to-head in the final of the tournament that will determine Roman Reigns' opponent for the Heavyweight World Championship on the Raw show on September 14th, which will take place in Mexico.
Since their arrival at the Endeavor-owned company, both wrestlers have worked individually and in different brands, although that has not stopped them from sharing backstage segments on WWE television programming, and even a promo in AAA. On Monday, they will finally be able to fulfill one of their childhood dreams, as Fenix explained in a recent interview for Busted Open.
"I am very proud of him and all the hard work he does. This opportunity is once in a lifetime. We understand it, and my brother perfectly understands the position we are in now. I also understand it," he said. "If my brother wins the match, I will feel proud of my work. I believe that every time I step into the ring, I always try to give my best, and of course, in this match I have to put double the energy, my soul, and my body, because this is not just a match. It's a dream."
"It's a dream come true for two brothers who, years ago, almost 22 years ago, shared this dream. We knew we had that goal and used to play wrestling on our parents' beds. We broke doors, glass, and mirrors. One day we started to think: 'What if one day we could wrestle in WWE? Can you imagine a one-on-one match or those dream matches we talk about?'."
"And that moment has arrived. It will be next Monday on Monday Night Raw. And, of course, if my brother wins the match, I will be happy for him and also for myself, because I know I will have given my best. Every time I step into the ring, I always give my best because I love my job. I love what I do. This means a lot to my brother and me, and that's why I know it will be an incredible match. I always say that I am my brother's best rival and that my brother is my best rival," he concluded.
