Goldberg is going through a difficult personal time following the passing of his father-in-law, the father of his wife, Wanda. The 88-year-old man left a deep void in his family after a life that his daughter described as long, full, and filled with love.
Through Instagram, Wanda shared some emotional words to say goodbye to her father, highlighting his funny, witty, loving, and adventurous nature. According to her, he had a "special charm" that drew everyone around him in.
"Yesterday the world lost an incredible man, our dad. He lived a wonderful 88 years and I feel so blessed to have had him for so long," she wrote. She also revealed that her parents were just days away from celebrating their 61st wedding anniversary. "I didn’t need to watch superhero movies, because I was raised by one," she added, in a message accompanied by several family photos, including images with her son Gage and Goldberg himself.
For Goldberg, his father-in-law was much more than his wife's father: he became a loving and present grandfather to their son, Gage. The photos shared show heartfelt moments between them, demonstrating the strong emotional bond they shared and the mutual admiration they had for each other.
The wrestler and his family have received messages of support from fans and colleagues, during a time when personal life takes precedence over the spotlight of the ring. This news comes in the same week that Goldberg will wrestle his retirement match. He will face Gunther this Saturday at the Saturday Night's Main Event, in a bout where the World Heavyweight Championship will be on the line.
