Alexa Bliss surprised the WWE Universe with her appearance at this year’s Royal Rumble, marking her first televised participation in almost two years. But the most shocking part was that her return was decided practically at the last minute, as she revealed on The Nikki and Brie Show podcast.

"I got the call around midnight, but it wasn’t fully confirmed until 4 a.m. Then they called me at 5:00 and said, ‘We need you on a plane by 10:00,’" Bliss explained.

She flew to a different city to throw off WWE fans and avoid leaks

To avoid any spoilers, the former champion flew to Cincinnati instead of Indianapolis and was then driven to the venue. She arrived just before 4:00 p.m., only two hours before the event started, and went straight to hair and makeup without having eaten or slept.

"I was at home at 3:00 a.m. on the phone, trying not to wake the baby, digging through my old gear to see what still fit. At 4:00 I told Ryan (her husband), ‘I think I’m going to the Rumble.’ He looked at me half asleep, completely confused, so I decided to go alone," she said.

Her return was so secretive that even the other wrestlers didn’t know she was in the building. "They didn’t know until I was already at Gorilla Position," she admitted.

Currently, Alexa Bliss is forming a mysterious alliance with Charlotte Flair. Both women will challenge for the WWE Women's Tag Team Championships at Evolution 2, facing champions Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez, along with two other teams yet to be confirmed.
