The August 11 edition of Monday Night Raw was set to feature a main event with Naomi defending the WWE Women’s World Championship against IYO SKY. However, the champion was pulled from the card after not being medically cleared, and this time it’s not part of a storyline: the situation is real.

Last night, Sean Ross Sapp confirmed that Naomi’s absence is due to a legitimate issue. "I was told it’s real, whatever it is. WWE had a big title match planned for Naomi this week, and it’s a shame she got injured,” the journalist noted, highlighting the unfortunate timing.

Naomi is currently enjoying one of the best runs of her career since winning the title, racking up successful defenses and establishing herself as one of the most solid figures in the women’s division. The news of her absence has sparked concern among fans, who hope she recovers quickly so she can resume her reign as soon as possible.

For now, WWE has not provided details on the exact nature of the injury or a potential recovery timeline. With the champion sidelined, uncertainty grows in the division, and it seems the company will have to reorganize its short-term plans until they know more about her physical condition.

Throughout her career, Naomi has proven to be a resilient competitor and not particularly injury-prone, though she has had some notable setbacks. In February 2014, she suffered a displaced fracture of the orbital bone during a Raw match, which kept her out of action for several weeks. Years later, in 2017, she faced another difficult moment when an injury—whose details were never fully disclosed—forced her to vacate the SmackDown Women’s Championship in the middle of her reign.

In 2020, Naomi had to deal with a longer break due to surgery to remove a fibroid, which also interrupted her in-ring activity. However, in recent years she has maintained a consistent competitive pace without any major physical issues, further cementing her image as a reliable and highly durable performer within WWE.
