Hulk Hogan’s final televised appearance in WWE before his passing took place on January 6 on Monday Night Raw. Far from receiving a standing ovation, the crowd responded with a loud wave of boos-something that did not go unnoticed by Vince McMahon.
In a preview of the special TMZ Presents: The Real Hulk Hogan, the host mentioned to McMahon that Hogan had been booed during that moment. The former WWE Chairman did not hide his displeasure: "I was angry. He deserved much more", he stated firmly.
In addition to the boos, offensive chants against Hogan could be heard in the arena, although they were not aired on television. Nevertheless, the “Immortal One” downplayed the situation, stating that he wasn’t bothered by such reactions in major markets like Los Angeles.
The relationship between Hogan and McMahon has been marked by decades of ups and downs, but also by a mutual connection and respect that endured until the end. Vince’s anger over that reception is just another example of the loyalty he felt toward one of the most iconic figures in WWE history.
As for Hogan, the boos he received that night were triggered by the Hulkster’s support for Donald Trump in the most recent presidential campaign. During the final day of the RNC (Republican National Convention), where Republicans showed their full support for Donald Trump ahead of the U.S. General Elections, Hogan delivered a lengthy speech from the podium, recalling how he met Trump and how the former president was a key figure in his career and in the professional wrestling industry.
