The newly crowned TNT Champion, Kyle Fletcher, seeks to continue consolidating his reign and that is why last week he decided to issue an open challenge to any NJPW star who wanted to challenge him at Forbidden Door, and tonight on AEW Dynamite it was confirmed that his opponent will be the Japanese Hiromu Takahashi.
Tonight, Hiromu Takahashi was the surprise in the eight-man tag team match. Teaming up with Brody King, Hologram, and Tomohiro Ishii, to face The Young Bucks, Kyle Fletcher, and Josh Alexander. The action exploded immediately, with the Bucks attacking Justin Roberts at ringside. Then chaos continued with Hologram flying over the ropes to attack his opponents, while his team took turns to punish Kyle Fletcher with hard chops.
The match maintained a frenetic pace, with attacks from both sides and moments of great tension, like Fletcher's Brainbuster attempt on Ishii that was thwarted by Hiromu at the edge of the ring. Later on, The Young Bucks and Josh Alexander managed to take control of the match, culminating in a brutal Spike Piledriver on Brody King on the ramp.
After a long phase of dominance by the opposing team, Hologram managed to tag in Hiromu Takahashi, who took charge to lead his team to victory. Despite multiple attacks, Hiromu managed to hit his finisher on Josh Alexander to secure the three count and subsequently, it was confirmed that Hiromu will be Kyle Fletcher's opponent at Forbidden Door.
