Kota Ibushi, one of the biggest stars of Japanese wrestling in the century, has been part of All Elite Wrestling for a couple of years. Before that, the wrestler had several issues with NJPW, the company from which he parted ways in 2021 on very bad terms.

In recent times, Ibushi had accumulated a series of injuries that greatly affected his performance. To that were added a series of personal problems that caused his level to noticeably drop to the point of having one of the worst matches of the past year against Naomichi Marufuji.

Fortunately for the former IWGP champion, it seems that since he started making appearances on AEW programming, his performance has improved significantly, even surprising those who thought he had already had his last matches in the industry. That's why Khan's company has renewed the contract of the Japanese star for two more years

Ibushi shared this news in an Instagram post, where he expressed his happiness about the direction his career has taken in recent months. “This was incredible! A turning point in my life. I never thought I would travel on a private jet! And I signed a two-year contract renewal,” he wrote in the message accompanying the video.

With this extension, half of the Golden Lovers ensures that he will continue to be part of a wrestling company until he is 45 years old. "Just don't look down. Up. It's still not enough, not like this!", he concluded his message.

Currently, Ibushi is a regular presence on AEW programming. After being part of the story between Kazuchika Okada and Kenny Omega on the way to AEW All In 2025, the Japanese wrestler will be part of the Forbidden Door event. In the London show, Ibushi will join the team of Will Ospreay, Darby Allin, Hiroshi Tanahashi, and Kenny Omega to face Jox Monxley, Claudio Catagnoli, Gabe Kidd, and the Young Bucks in a Lights Out Steel Cage Match, a match that is positioned as one of the most anticipated for the event.
