The mystery surrounding Naomi is still alive, as many of us thought that the reason for her absence would be revealed this afternoon, in the release of the latest podcast by Stephanie McMahon What's Your Story?, but it has not been so. Naomi is perhaps experiencing the best stage of her career in WWE, holding the Women's World Championship after successfully cashing in her Money in the Bank briefcase at Evolution this past July. However, the wrestler admits that this great moment would not have been possible without the decision she made three years ago to leave the company.
In May 2022, during an episode of Raw, Naomi and Mercedes Moné (then Sasha Banks) left WWE amid creative tensions and differences with management. Since then, Naomi went through TNA Wrestling, where she became champion, before returning to WWE to start the path that has led her to the top.
During her participation in the podcast, Naomi confessed that that break was crucial for her personal and professional growth. "I think it was the first time in my adult life that I had the opportunity to stop, rethink, and redefine what I wanted for my future. At first, I thought I didn't want to return to wrestling, but that time made me stronger, more confident, and reignited my passion," she declared.
The wrestler also recalled that she had to face that process alone, while her husband, Jimmy Uso, was fully focused on The Bloodline storyline. "I grew a lot during that time. When I returned, I did it renewed, focused, and intentional with what I wanted to achieve. I worked hard, and it was worth it," she added.
Currently, Naomi portrays a heel character in WWE, and her next big challenge was going to be defending the championship against Stephanie Vaquer at Clash in Paris on August 31. However, her recent absence on Raw for medical reasons has raised uncertainty about whether she will be in full condition for the event.
