Nursing in WWE is always in full swing, with highs and lows throughout the year. In recent months, several superstars have been forced to leave the ring due to injury, such as Liv Morgan, while others have returned after a considerable time off, like Asuka. Now, another superstar is closer to making their return.
This is Apollo Crews, who has been out of action since the beginning of the year after suffering a pectoral tear during his match against Johnny Gargano on the episode of SmackDown on January 24. Because of this, the Nigerian had to undergo surgery, with no approximate return date... until now.
And it's because Crews himself has shared a video on his Instagram Stories in which he can be seen training in Florida at TJ Wilson and Natalya's Dungeon Academy. At the moment, it is unknown when Apollo will return to the company's television programming. It is worth noting that the former Intercontinental champion is officially part of the SmackDown roster.
2025 marks the tenth anniversary of Apollo Crews as a WWE talent. However, his time in the Endeavor-owned company has been quite irregular. Despite his undeniable quality as a wrestler, the Nigerian has never risen above the midcard. This has not stopped him from having two reigns with the United States Championship and the Intercontinental Championship, with a highly discussed heel turn at that time.
At the end of 2022, the wrestler was sent to NXT, where he gained much more prominence. However, half a year later, he returned to the main roster. Since then, he had barely been used in the company's television programming.
The latest creative plans for the wrestler (alliance with Baron Corbin and rivalry with Giovanni Vinci) were quickly discarded. He had recently been included in the storyline revolving around the WWE Tag Team Championships, which led him to face Johnny Gargano in the match that ultimately resulted in his injury.
