WWE announced during WrestleMania weekend that they had acquired Lucha Libre AAA. The operation will lead TKO to own the majority stake in the Mexican company. The agreement is expected to be completed in the third quarter of this year, once the bureaucratic process is finalized.

Meanwhile, WWE has taken the time to sign an agreement with some of the most prominent talents from AAA, including Mr. Iguana, one of the current sensations, whose merchandise has become one of the best-selling products today. This afternoon, Dave Meltzer expanded the list of WWE's recent signings in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

"Microman, La Hiedra, La Parka, Faby Apache, Niño Hamburguesa, Mesías, and Lady Flammer have signed contracts with WWE for AAA and are already being marketed," wrote Meltzer. "At this point, I strongly suspect that everyone participating in the Triplemanía show is under contract with WWE, as WWE owns the company and will not feature anyone on their platform who could legally go to AEW."

It is worth noting that this weekend Triplemanía XXXIII will take place, one of the most important events of the year for the Mexican company, which this time will feature a strong presence of WWE superstars. So far, there are ten superstars who will be part of the action, some of them in title matches.

The event will repeat the successful formula of last June's Worlds Collide, with a dual commentary team (in Spanish and English, the latter with Corey Graves and JBL) and a live international broadcast on WWE's official YouTube channel.
