After a successful first season, WWE: Unreal is already preparing the new batch of episodes that will make up the second season of the Netflix docuseries. Although the popular streaming platform has not officially announced its continuation, everything points to the docuseries continuing to have new content, which is still being filmed backstage.
According to insider Billi Bhatti, as revealed in the latest episode of Dirty Sheets Wrestling Podcast, the cameras of WWE: Unreal have not stopped recording at any time. "They are already filming the second season, which is the road to SummerSlam, and the only reason they would stop is if Netflix said 'don't bother, we don't want more content', and that hasn't happened," Bhatti said.
Among the stories that have been recorded and could be included in the new season is the SummerSlam Saturday main event, where CM Punk's title victory took place, Seth Rollins' cash-in, and Gunther's injury. In fact, the latter would be of great interest in how it was carried out, possibly explaining to viewers what a blade job consists of.
"Gunther had reservations about getting a cut on his nose and felt more comfortable doing a regular blade job. And in the end, he ended up going against the company's instructions... which, I believe, resulted in better content for Unreal, whether they decide to show it or not," Bhatti said.
On the other hand, an episode is expected to focus on some of the roster's couples, including the relationship between Ludwig Kaiser and Tiffany Stratton. "You'll see the relationship between Kaiser and Tiffany... Montez with Bianca Belair, and also Naomi with Jimmy Uso. So that will be an episode very much in the style of Total Divas in the upcoming season of Unreal," Bhatti said.
The first season of WWE: Unreal consists of five episodes. With Triple H as the main thread, the docuseries focuses on various stories ranging from the debut of Raw on Netflix to WrestleMania. These stories are led by talents such as Cody Rhodes, Rhea Ripley, Jey Uso, and CM Punk. Currently, it is unknown when the second season will premiere, although fans can expect a production similar to the first batch of episodes.
