Live Report of WWE SmackDown August 15, 2025

WWE SmackDown starts on Netflix!

We see a smiling Drew McIntyre arriving at the venue.

MFT (Solo Sikoa, Talla Tonga, Tonga Loa, and JC Mateo) are the ones in charge of opening the show tonight. The faction heads to the ring. Once there, Solo asks for a microphone. The fans boo Sikoa as he addresses them. Solo welcomes them before reminding them that MFT runs this show. "And if you don't like it... tough luck," he says mockingly. "Solo sucks!" chants the audience. Sikoa recalls that last week Sami Zayn decided to interfere in the blue brand. So last Monday he decided to pay a visit to Zayn on WWE Raw to teach him a lesson. Solo boasts of having crushed Zayn in the same way he crushed Jimmy Uso and Jacob Fatu. "And if there's anyone out there who wants to...," says Sikoa before being interrupted.

Sami Zayn appears on the entrance ramp!

Microphone in hand, Zayn takes his position on the apron. "Sami, Sami!" chant the fans. The Canadian addresses Solo, pointing out that he has come only to talk. Confident, Sikoa allows him to enter the ring. To do so, he orders his men to leave the ring. Zayn approaches Solo. Sami recalls that he has been repeating his intention to conquer the World Heavyweight Championship for too long. And last Monday he could have taken a step in that direction if he had defeated Rusev, but Solo intervened in the match and deprived him of that opportunity. However, he is not angry. No. "I feel... liberated," says Zayn. Now that the pressure of becoming a world champion has disappeared, he feels much clearer in his mind. So much so that he can focus on other goals. "I guess I have to thank you," says Sami. Solo looks at him with some confusion. "You're welcome. That's what we're here for," Sikoa responds with a relieved smile on his face.

Sami points out that, in addition to the world championship, there is another title he has never conquered in WWE, and that is the United States Championship. "Guess what, Sami: you won't be wearing it soon," Solo replies before reminding Zayn that the Canadian belongs to the WWE Raw roster. "In fact, get out of my ring! Get out of my show! I don't want to see you ever again!," Sikoa exclaims before putting his hands on his championship. Sami, however, remains in the ring to communicate some news: from tonight, he is a SmackDown superstar. "You took something from me, and now I'll take something from you! I'm coming for the United States Championship and I'm coming for you," Zayn exclaims.

Both men throw their microphones on the canvas. Sikoa throws a punch, but Sami blocks it to counterattack. Loa and Mateo quickly come to Solo's aid. The three men beat the Canadian at will. Talla enters the ring, ready to join his teammates, but...

Jimmy Uso appears on the scene!

Jimmy runs into the ring while Talla protects Sikoa in one of the corners. Uso hits Mateo and Loa, but ends up being surprised by Talla. Thus, MFT regain control of the situation. Sikoa taunts Zayn as he raises the title. Meanwhile, Talla prepares to execute a chokeslam on Jimmy. But suddenly...

Jacob Fatu bursts onto the scene!

Talla goes after "The Samoan Werewolf," but he dodges him to enter the ring directly. Once there, he lunges at Solo, unleashing a flurry of punches on him. Talla quickly returns to separate Fatu from Sikoa. Jimmy and Sami free Jacob with two superkicks on Talla, but he remains standing. The first execute a superkick in stereo on their enemy, who still doesn't fall. Talla grabs Uso and Zayn, ready to execute a double chokeslam, but Jacob prevents it with a new superkick. Zayn and Uso expel Talla from the ring with a double clothesline.

Nick Aldis appears on the scene. The SmackDown General Manager points out that this is not the right way to welcome the new member of the brand's roster. Aldis welcomes Sami before informing him that he will headline the night's event when he teams up with Fatu and Uso to face three of the MFT members. Solo orders his men to retreat backstage while Sami, Jimmy, and Jacob remain in the ring.

Byron Saxton interviews Chelsea Green and The Secret Hervice (Alba Fyre and Piper Niven) backstage. Byron asks Chelsea about her rivalry with Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair, specifically how both teams have reached this point. "With courage, I interrupted a small and silly birthday celebration and then, with courage, I received a fun birthday cake directly in the face and could have been seriously injured," Green replies. Piper takes the floor to express her disgust at what happened. "No one - and I MEAN NO ONE - messes with our Canadian heroine and gets away with it," she says. Alba, for her part, assures that, once Niven is done with Bliss, The Secret Hervice will "confiscate" the WWE Women's Tag Team Championships. Niven pushes Saxton aside to end the interview. The Secret Hervice escort Green as they head to the ring.

Alexa Bliss (with Charlotte Flair) vs. Piper Niven (with Alba Fyre and Chelsea Green)

Alexa asks Piper for a moment to lift Lilly. The fans cheer for the doll. Bliss carefully places her in one of the corners, a moment that Piper takes advantage of to surprise her. Piper asks her teammates to get rid of the doll. Chelsea approaches her, but Charlotte steps in to protect her. The action continues. Bliss tries to subdue Piper in a sleeper hold, but the Scotswoman quickly throws her against the canvas.

Niven punishes Alexa with the help of the ropes. Bliss tries to recover, but receives a Black Hole Slam. Alexa tries to counterattack, but her opponent quickly stops her offensive. Niven applies a submission hold on Bliss, who responds with several punches. A direct right to the face leaves Alexa lying on the canvas. Alba and Chelsea take advantage of a distraction from the referee to illegally attack Bliss. Piper throws Alexa against one of the corners before crushing her with a corner splash.

Niven imitates Ric Flair before slapping her opponent. Piper sets up her opponent in the corner before executing a cannonball. However, Alexa moves away just in time, causing the Scotswoman to hit the corner. Bliss unleashes an offensive on the Scotswoman. Alexa knocks her down with a dropkick to continue with three spinning senton. After that, she finishes her with a spinning neckbreaker. 1..2..NO.

Piper knocks out Alexa again, applying a cannonball this time. Niven tries to finish her off with a Vader Bomb, but Bliss dodges the attack to respond with a DDT. Alexa seeks height in one of the corners. Chelsea climbs onto the apron to distract her, but Flair makes her fall. Now it's Alba who tries to intervene. Bliss gets off the corner to meet her with a right. Piper tries to crush Alexa, but she dodges her, causing the Scotswoman to hit the corner. After that, Bliss covers her with a roll-up. 1..2..3.

Winner: Alexa Bliss

Alba attacks Alexa with a superkick. Charlotte enters the ring to defend her partner. Fyre tries to apply a superkick to her, but "The Queen" dodges it. Flair knocks down Alba with a clothesline. Piper and Chelsea join the fight, only to receive a rain of chops from Charlotte. She knocks down Green with a clothesline, only to be surprised by a tackle from Niven, who finishes her with a senton. Chelsea catches Flair to push her fiercely against one of the posts. After that, Green throws her over the audience barrier. Meanwhile, Fyre executes a Gory Bomb on Bliss, whom Piper finishes with a Vader Bomb. Chelsea Green and The Secret Hervice pose victorious over their victim to end the segment.

We move backstage, where we see Tiffany Stratton arguing with Jade Cargill about the outcome of their match at SummerSlam. Nick Aldis tries to bring order. The SmackDown General Manager understands that Cargill wants a new opportunity for the WWE Women's Championship and that Tiffany wants to be a champion who defends the gold, but both must follow the appropriate channels. Nia Jax appears on the scene to mock Jade, reminding her that she already had her chance and proved she wasn't up to par to be a champion. That's why she suggests that she step aside so that she can be the one to end Tiffany's lucky reign. Cargill makes it clear that she won't. Stratton addresses Jax. "Nia, I'm going to tell you the same thing I told Jade the other day. The story could be different, but the result will always be the same, and if I have to prove it with you (looking at Jax) before proving it with you (looking at Jade), so be it," says Tiffany before leaving. Nia and Jade look at each other in silence before turning their gaze to Aldis. And so we reach the end of this segment.

Tag Team Match
Melo Don't Miz (The Miz and Carmelo Hayes) vs. Fraxiom (Axiom and Nathan Frazer)

Axiom and Melo prepare to start the fight... but The Miz decides to take the lead. The four wrestlers notice the presence of Joe Gacy and Dexter Lumis in the audience area, which makes The Miz very nervous. Axiom and The Miz continue the fight with a technical phase. "We want Melo!" chant the fans. Axiom slaps The Miz before giving way to Frazer.

Nathan bounces back and forth on the ropes, dodging The Miz's attacks. Tired of the situation, he decides to give way to Hayes, who is surprised with an armdrag from Frazer. "Let's Go Melo!" chant the fans. Fraxiom team up to get rid of their opponents, who end up outside the ring. The Europeans launch themselves against The Miz and Carmelo with two consecutive suicide dives.

Carmelo and Axiom return to the ring to continue the fight. The Miz lowers the ropes so that the masked man stumbles over them. Axiom loses his balance, and Melo takes advantage to knock him down. The Miz decides to take the lead to continue punishing Axiom. The Miz kicks his opponent, hoping for the fans' acclaim, but it's Melo's name they chant. Hayes takes the lead to continue punishing Axiom, to whom he applies a legdrop. 1..2..NO.

The Miz takes the lead to crush Axiom with a corner clothesline. The Miz continues to attack his opponent, who tries to reach his partner. The Miz carries Axiom to his corner, where Melo takes the lead. The Miz hits Axiom with several corner spears, ignoring Carmelo, who finally has to separate him from his opponent. The action continues. Melo knocks down Axiom with a springboard clothesline. 1..2..NO.

Hayes knocks down Axiom with a superkick before looking for a powerbomb. However, the Spaniard blocks it. Carmelo catches him again to execute a sit-out powerbomb. 1..2..NO. Hayes tries to attack Frazer, but he dodges it by going down to ringside. Axiom takes advantage to kick Carmelo. Both end up lying on the canvas. Hayes and the Spaniard crawl to their respective corners to give way to their partners.

Frazer enters with everything, hitting both opponents. Nathan executes a standing shooting star press on The Miz. 1..2..NO. The Miz dodges a Phoenix Splash to respond with a knee strike. The Miz and Hayes team up to attack Frazer, but he ends up getting rid of the former before surprising the latter with a spanish fly from the second rope. 1..2..NO. Carmelo knocks down Nathan with a superkick.

The action moves to the top of one of the corners. Axiom applies a spanish fly to Carmelo, whom Nathan finishes off with a Phoenix Splash. 1..2..NO. The Miz interrupts the count by stepping on Frazer, using him as a trampoline to reach Axiom, who receives a DDT. The four men end up lying on the canvas. "This is amazing!" chant the audience.

The action returns to the top of one of the corners. The Miz catches Axiom to apply a DDT on the apron. Meanwhile, Hayes reverses a superplex from Frazer into a neckbreaker. Carmelo seeks height, ready to finish off his opponent with a Melo Don't Miss, but The Miz decides to take the lead. The Miz approaches Nathan to execute a Skull Crushing Finale. 1..2..3.

Winners: Melo Don't Miz

Hayes remains seated in his corner, clearly upset by what happened. The Miz celebrates in the center of the ring. The Miz approaches his partner to hug him, pulling him down from the corner. The Miz raises Hayes' hand, who maintains a very serious face.

Tiffany Stratton meets Kiana James backstage. James has noticed that Jade Cargill and Nia Jax are after the WWE Women's Championship, but they won't be the only ones. The longer she holds onto the gold, the more her value will grow in the market. And with that, the list of women going after her will also increase. That's why she recommends that she cover her back well. And there is no better security than what Kiana and her client, Giulia, can offer her. That said, she hands her card, assuring her that her services would make her life much easier. "I'm already a champion, so I don't think I need support," says Tiffany before continuing on her way. However, James stops her. "Okay, but you should know that if you're not with us, you're against us. I get that you're undefeated, but that's only because you've never faced someone like Giulia. And just because she holds a title doesn't mean she can't take yours," says Kiana. Tiffany walks away, just as Michin appears. She believes James is rushing things, and if he would just answer her calls, he’d know that she’s the one who’s going to take the United States Championship from Giulia. "That's something we’ll have to evaluate, okay?" responds Kiana before leaving.

Drew McIntyre makes his entrance. Microphone in hand, the Scotsman notes that many people have asked him over the past week why he brutally attacked Cody Rhodes on the last episode of SmackDown. Drew asks production to roll the footage of him delivering a Claymore to the Undisputed WWE Champion. The fans boo.

"I didn’t attack Cody Rhodes," says McIntyre, insisting the fans have been deceived by their own eyes. Drew asks Joe Tessitore why there’s no update on Cody’s medical condition—something that usually happens in these cases. Maybe someone is deliberately hiding information because of what he did to the company’s “golden boy.” Maybe they don’t even know how long Rhodes will be out, and all because of the Scotsman.

"Here’s the thing. People think I hate Cody. I don’t. I pity him. He needs your approval. He needs management to believe in him. He needs pats on the back and 'good job, kid.' I know, because five years ago, I was in Cody's spot. Then I evolved. I realized that once we retire, you all forget about us. You move on. You have to take what you can, while you can—and I want that WWE Championship I’ve been screwed out of more times than I can count. I deserve it! I earned it! I want it for myself, for my family. I want it for a big paycheck. Cody Rhodes needs the WWE Championship. But who is Cody without his story? Who is he without the title? He’s nobody. And he knows it. That’s why he did what he did last week. And that brings us full circle, ladies and gentlemen. I didn’t attack Cody last week. He attacked me," McIntyre states.

Drew walks to ringside to further justify his actions. He reminds the audience that Cody attacked him after their tag match was over. Not only that—Rhodes cleared the announce table to try and put him through it. That’s why Drew had to defend himself.

"The question is—why would Cody do something like that? Maybe because I told him to his face: ‘I want you to beat Cena. Then I’ll be the one to take that title from you.’ Cody Rhodes, your biggest flaw is that you're great at getting under people's skin. Drew McIntyre is great at putting people on the shelf. So no, I’m not the bad guy—but if you provoke me, I will do very, very violent things. If you provoke me, I’ll be the real nightmare," he says, before slamming the microphone to the ground. "Get well soon," he adds, looking straight into the camera before heading backstage with a grin.

Backstage: Byron Saxton interviews The Street Profits and B-Fab. Byron asks if they think a win over #DIY could bring them closer to another WWE Tag Team Title shot. Before they can answer, MFT interrupts.

Solo Sikoa doesn't understand why Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins are chasing tag titles again. He makes it clear that once they finish off Jimmy Uso, Jacob Fatu, and Sami Zayn, it’ll be MFT going for the gold.
"If you want those tag titles, you’ll have to go through us," says Solo.

Angelo says they'll do what they do best. Ford adds that no matter how many teams they have to face, they’re still standing—and they still "want the smoke." The Street Profits and B-Fab leave. Solo tells his crew not to worry, but Talla Tonga looks distracted, glancing over his shoulder. Solo asks if he’s alright.
"I’m fine," Talla replies. Solo tells the group to follow him—it’s time to handle business. After they exit, Erick Rowan is seen lurking in the background with his mallet.

Tag Team Match

#DIY (Tommaso Ciampa & Johnny Gargano w/ Candice LeRae) vs. The Street Profits (Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins w/ B-Fab)

Ciampa and Ford start off. Tommaso hits an elbow, Ford answers with a dropkick. Ciampa kicks Ford in the face and drags him to his corner. #DIY takes turns beating down Montez, with Ciampa landing a brutal knee strike. Montez escapes with his agility and tags in Dawkins.

Angelo takes on both opponents at once. Ciampa escapes to ringside, hiding behind Candice. Dawkins pauses, avoiding hitting LeRae, allowing Tommaso to rush back into the ring. Angelo follows, only to be blindsided by another knee strike. Tag to Johnny, who kicks Dawkins in the face from the apron. #DIY pose together.

Back in the ring, Johnny attacks Dawkins in the corner. Ciampa tags in and mocks the former champs before continuing the assault. #DIY keep tagging in and out, wearing Dawkins down. Gargano taunts Ford, drawing him into the ring. The ref holds him back while DIY double-team Dawkins illegally.

Johnny kicks Ford to prevent the tag. Angelo manages to knock Gargano down—both men crawl to their corners. Hot tag to Montez, who flies in with a diving crossbody on Ciampa. Ford clears house and hits a standing moonsault. 1…2…NO.

Ciampa fights back but falls to a side suplex combo. 1…2…NO. Gargano breaks it up. Ford throws Johnny out and climbs the ropes. Dawkins hoists Ciampa onto his shoulders. LeRae tries to interfere, but B-Fab sends her crashing into the steel steps.

#DIY capitalizes on the distraction with a Fairytale Ending + superkick combo on Montez. 1…2…NO. Dawkins breaks the count. Chaos breaks loose. Ford causes Gargano to hit Ciampa. Johnny throws Montez out, who crashes into Angelo. Gargano dives—but Montez stops him with an uppercut. Candice jumps onto Ford with a hurricanrana from the apron, sending him crashing into Dawkins.

Gargano drags Ford into the ring and hits a DDT. 1…2…NO. B-Fab knocks out Candice with a pump kick. Dawkins blindsides Gargano and tosses him out—Johnny hits face-first. Ford hits Ciampa with a knee strike. Angelo returns and nails a spinebuster. Ford finishes with a frog splash. 1…2…3.

Winners: The Street Profits

Backstage: Nick Aldis chats with Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin). Carmelo Hayes arrives and asks the SmackDown GM what he has to do to earn a U.S. Title shot. The Miz interrupts, apologizing on behalf of his partner and suggesting it’s a good time to discuss a “certain matter.”

Shelley and Sabin cut him off, pointing out that Aldis was already in the middle of something—with them. Just like The Miz is clearly manipulating Hayes.

"What’s up, Melo? Are you HIM? Or are you HIS?" jokes Sabin.
The Miz denies manipulating Carmelo—he’s just helping him. He mocks the Guns as "Motor City Squirt Guns", because they make a lot of noise but have no real impact.

Alex says it’s ironic coming from a team that looks like they just met at the catering table, while he and Sabin have been teaming for two decades.

Tensions rise, and Aldis intervenes.
"There’s a simple solution here. Know what I’m thinking?"
"Of course. Give us a title shot," Miz quickly answers.

Aldis says no. His idea is to have Motor City Machine Guns vs. Melo Don’t Miz in a tag match next week.
"Exactly what we wanted," says Miz as he walks off with Hayes.
"What do you mean 'we' wanted?" asks Carmelo as they leave. Sabin and Shelley stay behind with Aldis as the segment ends.

We see a recap video of last week’s events between John Cena and Logan Paul.

Byron Saxton interviews an energetic R-Truth backstage. R-Truth says he feels great after being reunited with his childhood hero, John Cena. Aleister Black interrupts the interview to confront R-Truth, who seems to have forgotten about his other friend, Damian Priest. "With friends like you, who needs enemies?" says the Dutchman. R-Truth steps up to Black. "Who are you to tell me who I am?" he asks. Aleister removes his sunglasses. "There he is. Mr. Killings. I guess I’ll see you next week," he says before walking away. "Guess you forgot," mutters R-Truth.

Jimmy Uso, Solo Sikoa, and Sami Zayn are getting ready in the locker room. Sami and Jimmy wonder when was the last time they actually teamed up together. Zayn thanks Uso and Fatu for coming to his aid earlier in the show.

Jacob tells him he wasn’t there to help him—he was there for his "brother" Jimmy.
Sami points out that Jimmy is also his brother, so everything should be fine between them.

"Just make sure you stay out of my way. Yaddiahmean?" shouts Fatu before walking off.
"That’s a good thing," Jimmy says to Sami.

Tag Team Match

Jimmy Uso, Jacob Fatu & Sami Zayn vs. MFT (Tonga Loa, JC Mateo & Solo Sikoa) (with Talla Tonga)

Jimmy and Mateo start the match. JC corners Jimmy in one of the turnbuckles. Jimmy fights back with a kick. Sami tags in and dives onto Mateo, but JC drives the Canadian into the MFT corner.

Loa tags in and repeatedly strikes Sami, forcing the referee to intervene. Solo takes advantage and attacks Zayn illegally. Sami ends up outside the ring, where Talla Tonga hits him with a big boot.

Solo follows and slams Sami onto the announce table, then rolls him back into the ring to continue the assault. Sikoa beats down Zayn along the ropes. As the referee forces Solo to back off, Talla sneaks in a punch to Sami's face.

JC Mateo tags in to continue the beatdown, flooring Zayn with a clothesline. 1…2…NO. Mateo hits a standing moonsault.

Loa tags in and keeps the pressure on Sami, hitting a leg drop. 1…2…NO. Loa locks in a headlock. Zayn tries to fight out, but Loa manages to tag in Solo.

Sikoa unleashes a flurry of strikes to Zayn’s head. The crowd chants:
"Solo sucks!"

JC and Solo hit a double headbutt. Sami dodges a corner splash by JC, who crashes into the turnbuckle. Solo tags back in and prevents Zayn from making the tag. He chops Sami and places him on the top turnbuckle. Zayn fights back with punches and hits a tornado DDT.

Both men go down. Zayn and Sikoa crawl toward their corners.

Fatu and Loa tag in. Jacob takes Tonga down and hits a senton. He crushes Loa with a corner splash and lands a series of headbutts. Jacob follows up with a running hip attack.

Mateo tries to interfere, but Jacob tosses him out of the ring. Jimmy follows up with a dive to take him down. Loa tries to fight back but gets hit with a samoan drop by Fatu. 1…2…NO.

Jacob climbs to the top rope, but Solo tries to shove him off. Fatu kicks the U.S. Champion off the apron and then dives at Loa with a Swanton Bomb—only to land on his knees as Loa gets them up.

Loa tags in Solo, who hits a frog splash on Jacob. 1…2…NO.

Solo and Jacob trade shots until both men knock each other down with a double clothesline. Fatu crawls to tag Sami.

Sami Zayn hits Solo with a Blue Thunder Bomb. 1…2…NO. JC Mateo breaks the count and rains down punches on Zayn. Jimmy shows up and superkicks JC. Loa takes out Jimmy. Jacob returns and hits Loa with a superkick.

Talla climbs onto the apron—only to get superkicked and knocked to ringside. Fatu flies over the ropes with a suicide dive onto him.

Solo tries to surprise Sami with a samoan spike, but Zayn blocks it with a kick. He then throws Solo with an Exploder Suplex into the corner. Sami runs across the ring, waits for Solo to stand…

…and nails him with the Helluva Kick. 1…2…3.

Winners: Sami Zayn, Jacob Fatu & Jimmy Uso

Jimmy congratulates Sami and Jacob and invites them to huddle up. Fatu extends his hand to Zayn, who shakes it. The two embrace.

All three celebrate in the center of the ring as the show comes to an end.
