True to its annual tradition, All Elite Wrestling and New Japan Pro-Wrestling will hold a joint event under the name Forbidden Door. This year, the event will take place in the city of London, the same city that hosted the last two editions of All In, which were the two highest-grossing events in AEW history. Now, the company can boast of achieving a new record.

Indeed, Forbidden Door 2025 has already become the highest-grossing edition of the interpromotional event. According to the latest update from WrestleTix, published this afternoon, Forbidden Door 2025 had sold a total of 16,622 tickets out of the 17,392 available. As an additional fact, the event has sold 2,093 tickets in the last eight days.

Due to the box office success, AEW decided to expand the venue's capacity with 3,158 new seats, of which only 770 are left to be sold. Considering that there is still a week left until the show, it is quite likely that Forbidden Door will end up selling out.

Therefore, awaiting a final figure, Forbidden Door 2025 has already surpassed the attendance of the 2023 edition, held at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Canada (14,826 spectators), and the 2022 edition at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois (16,529 spectators).

AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door 2025 will take place on Sunday, August 24 at The O2 in London, England. The venue has a capacity for 20,000 spectators, which would allow the company to continue expanding the capacity if demand continues to rise. So far, the event's lineup includes eight confirmed matches, six of which are title matches.
