During the last WWE Raw, Sami Zayn reignited his rivalry with Solo Sikoa and his allies when an attack from them cost him his match against Rusev. Tonight, Sami appeared on SmackDown to seek revenge and confirm that, from now on, he will be part of the blue brand.

The SmackDown show started with MFT in the ring. Solo Sikoa took the microphone to recall last week's attack on Sami Zayn and boast about his faction's dominance. Before he could continue, he was interrupted by Sami himself, who, to everyone's surprise, thanked Sikoa for making him rethink his situation.

Zayn announced that his new goal is no longer the Heavyweight World Championship, but the United States Championship. After confirming that he is now part of the blue brand, he assured Solo that he will snatch the gold from him. Furious, Solo Sikoa tried to attack Sami, but he responded by cornering him before being overwhelmed by the rest of MFT.

The faction's attack continued until Jimmy Uso appeared to help Sami, although he was quickly taken down. Chaos escalated with the entrance of Jacob Fatu, who joined Sami and Jimmy to get rid of MFT from the ring. Faced with the confrontation, General Manager Nick Aldis appeared on the scene to confirm that the six will compete in a three-on-three match in the main event of the night.
