WWE Main Event results - August 16, 2025

WWE carried out new tapings of its weekly show Main Event, just before the live broadcast of SmackDown on August 8 on USA Network and last Monday, August 11 on Monday Night Raw on Netflix. The company recorded two matches that have been broadcasted this weekend on Hulu Plus and internationally on the official YouTube channel of the company.

- Carmelo Hayes defeated Axiom in a great match. Nathan Frazer accompanied the Spanish wrestler and tried to cheer him on at all times. Hayes was very confident at the beginning, but had to give his all when Axiom turned up the heat. The audience was really into the match and enjoyed it. In the final moments, Hayes escaped a Sharpshooter from Axiom by reaching the ropes, pushed his opponent, and the masked wrestler collided with the referee. Hayes took advantage of that distraction to try to remove Axiom's mask and apply the Suplex Cutter for the three count.

WWE shows us a recap of what happened during the week, especially on WWE Monday Night Raw, where CM Punk and LA Knight had a great face-off.

- Grayson Waller defeated Akira Tozawa in the main event. The audience was fully behind Tozawa, who tried at all times to keep his composure and offer the best show possible. Tozawa was close to causing an upset after applying a Hurricanrana Pin, but Waller managed to kick out. Tozawa continued his offense, but was caught off guard by a version of his opponent's Unprettier to be defeated by the three count.
