Lucha Libre AAA celebrated last night Triplemanía XXXIII, one of its biggest events of the year, which took place at Arena CDMX in Mexico City. The show featured a standout lineup that brought together some of the best talents from AAA and WWE, with four titles on the line. One of them was the AAA Latin American Championship, which ended up in the hands of El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr.
The match didn't give a second of respite, with both men giving it their all in the ring from the first minute. Dorian Roldán, who was accompanying El Mesías, didn't hesitate to interfere in the match, illegally hitting the challenger when the referee was distracted, which provoked the fury of Dr. Wagner Jr., who was watching the match from the front row.
El Mesías took advantage of the situation to strike his rival in front of his father, even going as far as tearing his mask to mock him. Dr. Wagner Jr. decided he had had enough and jumped the barrier to confront Dorian Roldán, who put on a mask of the former to continue taunting him. Tired of the situation, Dr. Wagner Jr. knocked him out with a punch.
With Roldán out of the equation, the match reached its final phase, with the challenger surviving a spear from El Mesías before the action moved to the top of one of the turnbuckles. Hijo de Dr. Wagner managed to catch the champion to execute a superplex, followed by a definitive Wagner Driver to seal his victory.
Thus, El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. ends El Mesías' 280-day reign, adding his first championship in Lucha Libre AAA half a year after officially signing with the Mexican company. The championship was directly handed to him by his father, making the moment even more special, sweetened by the fans' ovation.
