According to recent information, WWE has scheduled a major event for September 20 and, apparently, it already has a name. According to reports from WrestleVotes, the company plans to revive a classic event from the now-defunct ECW: Wrestlepalooza. The decision to resurrect this defunct title has surprised fans, as it would be a nostalgic return of great past editions.

According to information from PWInsider, the event could be broadcast on ESPN, despite the television agreement between both companies not taking effect until 2026. This unexpected move would serve as a "pilot test" for WWE's new television agreement, attracting a massive audience outside of its usual platform, Peacock.

Additionally, this move could trigger a television war, as the event will take place on the same night as AEW's All Out PPV at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto. If confirmed, it would be the first time a WWE main roster show competes directly with an AEW pay-per-view event, marking a historic moment in the rivalry between both companies.

Wrestlepalooza was a memorable wrestling event produced by the now-defunct Extreme Championship Wrestling that took place in several editions throughout the 90s. After being held in 1995, 1997, and 2000, the 1998 edition became the only one of these shows to be broadcast as a pay-per-view.
