Over the past year, All Elite Wrestling has let go of some talents who did not wish to continue working for the company, such as Penta, Rey Fenix, and Ricky Starks. However, there are others still waiting to be released, or at the very least, for their contracts to expire. That could have been the case for Danhausen — but it turns out it won’t be.
Danhausen’s current contract was set to expire on July 1st. However, a month and a half later, the wrestler remains part of the company’s roster, leading many to question the situation. Now, a report from Fightful has provided an update on Danhausen’s case, revealing that the wrestler will remain with AEW well into 2026.
“Fightful Select reported earlier this year that Danhausen was in the final year of his contract, and that his deal would specifically expire in July. That time has now come and gone, and he still appears on AEW’s roster page. And there’s a good reason for that: technically, he is still part of All Elite Wrestling,” the outlet wrote.
“AEW sources tell us that Danhausen’s contract was set to end on July 1st, but several months were added to it, extending it well into 2026. It is believed that Danhausen had requested that the renewal option not be exercised, and was ready to leave the company after having been used very little in recent years. Currently, there are no creative plans for Danhausen,” the Fightful report concluded.
Despite Danhausen’s complicated situation in AEW, where there have been no creative plans for him for over a year and a half, the wrestler has still been able to compete on the independent scene. He recently took part in a charity event for C4 Wrestling, which raised $132,000 for the Canadian Cancer Society.
