WWE continues to prepare for the official announcement of Wrestlepalooza, the premium event that is reportedly set to take place on September 20th and has been the talk of the town over the past week. Earlier this morning, Mike Johnson from PW Insider, through their paid section, stated that the company is working on the lineup for two main matches for this event.
The word circulating backstage this week on Raw places Brock Lesnar against John Cena as one of the main attractions. It would be their first singles match since 2014 and Lesnar's return to action since SummerSlam 2025. This match was the first rumor to surface, and it was later revealed that WWE intended to have them face off at a show scheduled for September.
The current plan also has Cody Rhodes defending the WWE Championship against Drew McIntyre, in another chapter of a rivalry that began after SummerSlam and has intensified in recent weeks. It is likely that neither will compete at Clash in Paris, where two main event matches have already been confirmed.
Internal sources insist that this is the current direction, with the usual disclaimer of "card subject to change". The company typically adjusts plans based on talent availability, storyline, and physical condition. However, it appears that this will be the main plan for the show.
