WWE has officially confirmed that Roman Reigns will face Bronson Reed at Clash in Paris on August 31st. The announcement was made by Raw's General Manager, Adam Pearce, in a video posted this afternoon.
"If you've been paying attention, you've seen what has been happening between Roman Reigns and 'Big' Bronson Reed. Every time Reed crosses paths with the Tribal Chief, he leaves him lying and takes his sneakers. That is a lack of respect. And we'll see if it continues at Clash in Paris because it will be one-on-one," Pearce pointed out.
The conflict between Reigns and Reed started in an unusual way: with Reed stealing several sneakers in different episodes of Raw. In a coordinated attack with The Vision, Reed took off the Samoan's feet some Jordan Spizike and started using them as a necklace, self-proclaiming the accessory his "shoe-la-fala."
The following week, he repeated the move with another pair of Jordans, leading Paul Heyman to nickname him The Tribal Thief. This series of incidents ended with Reigns issuing the official challenge on Raw after coming to the aid of his cousin Jey Uso during an Extreme Rules Match against Bron Breakker.
The match marks the first official one-on-one between Reigns and Reed. So far, they had met twice in the ring in tag team matches, and one of them ended with Reed injured. The peculiar sneaker-centered storyline has gained prominence in recent weeks, and the European audience will witness how this rivalry is resolved in Paris.
