Yesterday, AEW held a historic show for the company. For the first time, the Jacksonville company aired a program from Scotland, specifically from the OVO Hydro in Glasgow, the country's capital.
It was a very special event, as AEW would record their two weekly episodes prior to Forbbidden Door. From the very beginning, fans were very engaged in the show, reacting with enthusiasm to practically every wrestler who appeared on stage and creating a great atmosphere of wrestling.
At the end of the event, the company's president, Tony Khan, came out to thank the fans for attending a show so important to them. In addition, an emotional Khan began to play with the audience about the idea of returning to the country in the short term.
When the AEW president asked if the fans wanted to wait until next year to see another show, they responded with a series of boos. However, when Khan said, "Do you want us to come back sooner?", the Scottish audience erupted in a stellar ovation.
"Alright, considering that response, you know what? "Maybe we don't have to wait until next summer to return to the UK.”, Tony Khan replied. “Maybe we'll speed things up just for you, because you here... you, Scottish fans... could be the best wrestling fans in the world.”. “I absolutely love this and we promise we will keep coming back time and time again.”, he concluded.
All Elite's tour of the UK will conclude this Sunday at the O2 in London with the celebration of the joint event between CMLL, NJPW, and AEW, Forbidden Door. In addition, many stars participating in this tour, such as Mercedes Moné, Kyle Fletcher, or Hiroshi Tanahasi, will also be present at other independent events. The most anticipated by fans is the show Global Wars.
