At the Slammyversary event, TNA proposed a ladder match between four teams for the Tag Team Championships. The Rascalz, the Nemeth, Fir$t Cla$$, and the Hardys clashed in a very dynamic contest with many risky spots. In the end, it was the Hardy brothers who emerged victorious, becoming TNA Tag Team Champions for the fourth time in their career.

However, the night didn't end there for them. After the match, Bully Ray appeared to congratulate the new champions and, in the process, challenge them to one last tag team match at the Bound for Glory event: Jeff and Matt Hardy against Bubba Ray and D-Von, Team 3D. Without hesitation, the brothers from North Carolina accepted.

With less than two months left until the showdown, the Hardys were able to discuss their plans in an interview with TMZ Sports. For example, Matt mentioned that, depending on the stipulation, they would prepare differently. Nevertheless, the older brother predicted that the match would ultimately be a tables match.

"If it's Full Metal Mayhem or a TLC match, we will definitely prepare differently. If it's a regular match, we prepare differently depending on the fighting style. Honestly, from everything I've heard and putting this out there, I believe the Hardys vs. Dudleys could end up being a tables match almost as a celebration of a quarter of a century ago, when the first tag team tables match took place at Madison Square Garden in Royal Rumble 2000," acknowledged Matt Hardy.

Retirement hints?

When the interviewers hinted at the possibility of losing at Bound for Glory, Matt Hardy gave a very honest opinion of what could happen in that scenario. The former ECW Champion admitted that, if they were to be defeated by Team 3D, he and his brother would have to rethink their careers. "Hypothetically, if that were to happen, if we were to go to Bound For Glory and the Dudleys won the TNA World Tag Team Titles, I think we would have to look ourselves in the mirror and judge where we are and ask ourselves, is it time to retire and enter the TNA Hall of Fame, or the WWE Hall of Fame? We'll see. For now, we feel great and we're going to give it our all as if it were 2001," declared Matt.

On the other hand, Jeff took a much more fighting stance: "I will be completely focused on our rematch, no doubt. I'll be ready".

Despite the classic matches the teams have had (TLC, Steel Cage, Tables...), the reality is that most fans have serious doubts about the level both teams can offer in 2025.
