The promoter Riot Cabaret Pro Wrestling closed its event Someone's Knocking At The Door, held at The Clapham Grand in London, with an unexpected turn of events with the appearance of a WWE superstar. In the main event, Nico Angelo defeated Mark Andrews to win the Riot Cabaret Championship.
Angelo's celebration was short-lived. Andrews, frustrated by the loss, unleashed his fury and attacked the new champion with a steel chair, leaving a tense atmosphere in the arena. It was then that Pete Dunne, a WWE star and a familiar face in the British independent scene, stepped in to stop the aggression.
The wrestler, who last competed in WWE in May 2025 and more recently in Bloodsport in August, continues to be a prominent figure both inside and outside the company. The audience erupted in cheers at the sight of the Bruiserweight face to face with Andrews, recalling the years when they shared the ring in NXT UK.
Dunne did not hesitate to intervene and received applause from the London fans, who witnessed the unexpected crossing of paths between two old rivals. Dunne's presence reinforces the idea that WWE is entering a new phase of openness to collaborations with other companies, something that seemed impossible during the Vince McMahon era.
It is also rumored that this could be the beginning of a new attempt by WWE to revive NXT Europe, although several specialized media outlets have commented that individuals close to the company do not see this project happening in the short term. The status of Pete Dunne in WWE is shrouded in uncertainty. Although he was a key figure in NXT UK and later a co-founder of the New Catch Republic team with Tyler Bate on the main roster, his presence on televised programs has been scarce in recent months.
There were rumors that both Dunne and Bate are injured, which would explain their prolonged absence from television. However, while Bate has clarified that his inactivity is not due to injury, Dunne has not made any public statement about his situation. In fact, Dunne had a match in GCW in early August.
