This evening, AEW and NJPW held the 2025 edition of Forbidden Door, a show that featured great championship matches and memorable moments. In a new defense of his TNT Championship, "The Protostar" Kyle Fletcher retained his title against NJPW's representative, Hiromu Takahashi.

The match started evenly, with both wrestlers seeking an advantage in the opening minutes. Kyle and Hiromu exchanged hard forearm strikes and chops before Fletcher attempted to take control with Body Slams. However, Hiromu responded with a surprising Hurricanrana and a Poisonrana on the edge of the ring.

The pace of the match escalated with a tense exchange of Suplexes, where neither seemed to give ground. Fletcher used his strength to execute a Michinoku Driver that left both men down on the mat. Despite the champion's offense, Takahashi displayed incredible resilience, laughing as he escaped a pin and reversing an attack from Kyle to hit a Sunset Bomb outside the ring.

In the final moments, Hiromu unleashed his most aggressive offense, turning a Powerbomb into a Destroyer that nearly secured him the victory. Kyle, however, resisted and countered with a series of devastating attacks. Ultimately, Fletcher capitalized on a moment of distraction to reverse a pin attempt and deliver a decisive Brainbuster for the win.
