Countdown to WWE NXT Heatwave 2025

Megan Morant and Sam Roberts are in charge of presenting the Countdown Show for WWE Heatwave.

Andrea Bazarte interviewed Lola Vice in Mexico City before Triplemanía XXXIII. Lola claims to be a very different person than she was a year ago. She has fought all over the world and can promise to knock out anyone who is her opponent. Lola acknowledges that wrestling is not the same as fighting in an MMA cage, and she quickly learned that when she arrived at WWE. She has worked very hard to get here, adding that tonight will be "all or nothing" for her. Regarding her opponents tonight, Lola respects Kelani Jordan, but her match at Heatwave is about business, not friendship. About Jaida Parker, Vice assures that she is tired of her. Lola describes Parker as an envious woman who does nothing but ask for opportunities that she never takes advantage of. Parker always asks what's next for her. At Heatwave, what awaits her is to get her butt kicked. "Kelani, Jaida. If you can't stand the heat, get out of my way, because with this heatwave, I'm going to turn Lowell into Vice City", says Lola to end the interview.

Kelly Kincaid interviews Tavion Heights and Tyra Mae Steele backstage. Tyra is proud to have started a career as a professional wrestler in WWE as the first Olympic medalist in the company's history. Today, she also feels proud to represent the best country in North America. Tavion praises his partner before talking about himself, about what wrestling means to him. "I'll give it my all because wrestling gave me everything", he says.

Heights acknowledges that Ethan offended him when he said he wasn't ready for this, and he also enjoyed when he hit him back. Tyra believes there is nothing more appropriate than two Olympic competitors to represent the United States in tonight's match. Steele remembers not hesitating for a moment to accept Tavion's proposal when he asked her to be his partner. Tyra assures that she is 100% ready. She has talent, confidence, and much more to offer. Tavion is also ready for tonight. Heights points out that "All Ego" is a big mouth, and tonight he will make sure to earn his respect.

Blake Howard interviews Oba Femi backstage. "The Ruler" assures that he has been pushed to the limit many times in his NXT career. But everything changed when he lost the NXT North American Championship to Tony D'Angelo at Halloween Havoc. After that, he won the NXT Championship and raised the bar. Regarding his opponent tonight, he acknowledges that he is no longer the "kid" he was a few months ago. He has improved, and even The Undertaker himself has seen something in him. "We may be on the same path, but not in the same position", says Oba.

Blake asks Femi if he is worried about tonight's match. Annoyed, Oba makes it clear that he is not. "The Ruler" is not just a nickname. He wasn't the North American Champion for 272 days, or the NXT Champion for over 200 days by chance. He has proven abundantly that he deserves it, and he doesn't care how hungry Je'Von Evans arrives at Heatwave because he will destroy him. "Once I defeat Je'Von Evans in the middle of the ring, I will show everyone that I am 'The Ruler,' the Champion, the Chosen One, OBA FEMI", says the Nigerian to end the interview.

Niko Vance assures her she didn’t let them down. On the contrary: she made them proud. Shawn Spears agrees with his partner. However, there's something he doesn't quite understand. Why didn’t Izzi Dame want to help her? Dame points out that Tatum could win without the help of any doll. Besides, the only reason she lost is because she got distracted by Nia Jax and Lash Legend. Izzi just wanted Tatum to win on her own because she knows she can do it. Paxley smiles, grateful. Dame informs her that next Tuesday they’ll team up against Wren Sinclair and a partner of her choosing... if she can even find one. Izzi says it’s time to show the world how strong The Culling is. Shawn praises Dame’s personal growth. Niko reminds his teammates that No Quarter Catch Crew is weakened. They’re just a shadow of what they once were. The Culling, on the other hand, are stronger than ever. Now Tatum must finish them off once and for all. Paxley assures him that she will, because she has her family and because The Culling always prevails.

Ava confronts Lexis King over what happened with Myles Borne backstage last Tuesday. King claims he only did Borne a favor, once again accusing him of being someone who just wants people to feel sorry for him. “He’s deaf, and now blind. That’s how you build a character,” says King. Ava tells Lexis she should suspend him, but won’t — because Borne insisted on fighting him. “He can’t see. He can’t hear. That means he can’t win,” says King before accepting the match. Ava informs him that, just as Lexis took away Borne’s vision, she’ll do the same to him — because his match with Myles will be a Blindfold Match. “That’s not fair. You can’t take my vision,” says an upset King as the segment comes to a close.

Carlos Silva, president of TNA Wrestling, will watch the next match from the front row.
