This evening, AEW and NJPW held the 2025 edition of Forbidden Door, a show that featured great matches and memorable moments. Among them, the iconic "Timeless" Toni Storm defeated Athena in an incredible match to continue her reign as AEW Women's World Champion.

The match started with Toni Storm trying to take the initiative, but she was quickly overwhelmed by Athena's aggressiveness. The challenger threw Toni against the barricade and proceeded to punish her head and neck, trying to wear down the champion from the beginning. Despite the punishment, Storm managed to dodge an attack and respond with a Fisherman Suplex, showing that she wouldn't give up easily.

Despite the champion's resistance, Athena remained focused on punishing the neck, then she connected with a Superplex and a Powerbomb, while Toni countered with a DDT and a Tiger Driver. The match became even more chaotic around the ring, where Billie Starkz interfered to distract the champion, but Mina Shirakawa appeared just in time to stop Billie and neutralize the threat.

In the final moments, the match turned into a frantic exchange of submissions and reversals. Toni Storm applied her signature Storm Zero for a two-count, and the ending came unexpectedly. Athena attempted her signature move, the O Face, but Toni masterfully reversed it into a TCM Chickenwing. Trapped in the submission hold, Athena had no choice but to submit, securing the victory for "Timeless."
