The future of the WWE Speed Championships is now official. During the NXT Heatwave event, NXT General Manager Ava announced that both the men's and women's titles will become part of the yellow brand and will be defended in its regular programming.

This decision puts an end to weeks of rumors about the fate of the belts. The championships were created for WWE Speed, a weekly program exclusive to the social network X. However, the show stopped airing in July and multiple reports indicated that it had been canceled, leaving the future of its titles up in the air.

Ava made it clear that, although the show is now history, the championships will continue within NXT. In this way, the Speed project does not completely disappear, but rather reinvents itself as part of the regular programming of the developmental brand. NXT management took the opportunity to make another important announcement: an interpromotional tournament will be held to determine the next challenger for the women's title, currently held by Sol Ruca.

The tournament will feature the participation of a female wrestler from the main WWE roster, one from NXT, a representative from TNA Wrestling, and another from Lucha Libre AAA. The winner of this competition will face Sol Ruca at the upcoming special event NXT No Mercy, which will take place on September 27th.

With this, WWE aims to give greater exposure to the Speed titles, introducing an international collaboration factor that could open up new opportunities in the women's scene and strengthen all brands.
