Becky Lynch started the European tour of WWE by insulting the fans of Dublin and the city itself for not receiving her as a hero in the most recent episode of SmackDown. Last night, "The Man" made a new appearance, this time on the episode of Raw broadcasted in Birmingham, where she once again went after the local fans. However, on this occasion, one of her comments went too far.
During her confrontation with Nikki Bella, Becky continued to be booed by the audience. At one point, "The Man" decided to confront them, reminding them of the eight centuries that oppressed the Irish people and pointing out that the best thing Birmingham had given had died a month ago.
"The only good thing that came out of here died a month ago. But, to be fair to Ozzy Osbourne, he had the good sense to move to Los Angeles, a real city. Because if I lived in Birmingham, I would die too," Becky said to the hostile audience of WWE Raw.
Kelly Osbourne, daughter of the deceased singer, felt deeply upset after hearing the comment from the Intercontinental Champion. So much so, that she decided to post a story on Instagram to express her disgust towards Becky Lynch. "You are a disrespectful trash! What a shame for WWE to allow something like that to be said about my father and his home!", Kelly wrote.
Bryan Alvarez confirmed this afternoon that Lynch's comment was not approved by the Osbourne family, which would explain Kelly's reaction. In addition, WWE is seriously considering offering a public apology for what happened, as well as a private apology to the family.
"I can tell you that this was not like they called her and they were doing something together. Kelly Osbourne is not happy. I was told that WWE is embarrassed and they will probably apologize. There is talk of making a public apology; I know they have talked about a private apology," the journalist said in the most recent edition of Wrestling Observer Live.
