WWE NXT starts on Netflix!
We see a video recap of WWE NXT Heatwave.
Ricky Saints is the one to open the show tonight. The fans welcome him with a great ovation. Saints recalls what happened in the main event of Heatwave. Ricky praises the work of Je'Von Evans, and will always bet on him. However, that night the victory went to Oba Femi, who once again showed why he is the NXT Champion. Saints mentions that he has been on the brand for six months. In this time, he has been the North American Champion, has defeated monsters, and has faced the best of the best. "But there is one thing I want, and that thing is in your possession, Oba Femi," says Ricky. He acknowledges that there is a lot of talent backstage waiting for their chance to step up and achieve the impossible. "What I'm doing now is laying my cards on the table and claiming my opportunity. I am the Man! I am the Chosen One, Oba Femi! So come out here to talk face to face!", exclaims.
However, it is Josh Briggs who appears on the entrance ramp. The fans greet him with loud boos. Briggs advises him not to rush before pointing out that all he has done in these six months is walk believing he is a "gift of this business." Josh acknowledges that the "hype" for Saints was justified, but also accuses him of being an "outsider" (like Yoshiki Inamura), and as such, does not deserve opportunities that should be in the hands of the true talent of NXT. Furthermore, he does not consider Saints to be on his level.
Ricky believes he should have taken care of him weeks ago, but let it go because Josh was caught up in his rivalry with Inamura. That said, he describes him as a loudmouth who has lost his mind if he thinks he will voluntarily go to the back of the line. "Understand this, I am the line! I am the position! And the problem is that you think you're right! I know I'm right and the only solution to this is to deal with it here and now!", exclaims Ricky. Josh agrees. Both prepare to fight, but...
Ava interrupts them
The General Manager knows how this will end, so before both men go any further, she wants to inform them of something. No one has heard from Je'Von Evans since his defeat at Heatwave, so now she needs to find a new challenger for Femi. Luckily for Briggs and Saints, they have both scored important victories recently, so tonight they will face each other one on one. The winner will earn a shot at the NXT Championship at No Mercy. Ava wishes them good luck to end her intervention. Briggs smiles. Ricky thanks the General Manager. "Ava, Ava," the fans chant as the segment comes to an end.
We see a video posted on WWE's social media after Heatwave. In it, Blake Monroe talks with Ava. The Brit is proud of having defeated Jordynne Grace, one of the best wrestlers on the NXT roster, which would allow her to take a giant step towards her main goal in WWE: winning the NXT Women's Championship. Kelani Jordan interrupts the scene to oppose the idea. Jordan recalls that she has earned all her opportunities through hard work in the two years she has been on the brand, so she advises Blake to go to the back of the line. The Brit mocks Kelani, who must be upset about her loss at PLE. Jordan, on the other hand, reminds her that she ran away the first time they faced each other. Additionally, she did not receive the three count in the triple threat at PLE. Ava interrupts them with an idea: why not finish what they started a few weeks ago in an individual match on the weekly NXT show? Kelani gladly accepts the idea. "I'm going to set an example with you," says Jordan before leaving. Blake stands up. "For the record: I don't think you're a very good General Manager," says an annoyed "The Glamour" before leaving.
Blake Monroe vs. Kelani Jordan
Jordan surprises Monroe with a dropkick. Kelani continues to use her speed and agility until the Brit stops her with a headbutt. Jordan tries to counterattack, but Blake knocks her down with a faceplant. Monroe continues with a dropkick before throwing her opponent into one of the corners. Blake blocks a kick to continue hitting Kelani.
"The Glamour" focuses her punishment on Jordan's left arm. She surprises Blake with an enziguri to start her counterattack. Jordan tries to counterattack, but Blake takes refuge on ringside. Jordan positions herself on the apron, and from there kicks her opponent's face. Kelani is about to jump on her, but...
Jordynne Grace makes her entrance!
The Brit quickly leaves the scene. "The Juggernaut" runs after her. Blake reaches the door of the venue, but it is closed. Jordynne reaches her position, but decides not to attack her. Grace reminds her that she has a match and urges her to return to the ring. "The Glamour" runs to the ring, followed closely by Jordynne. Still distracted by her enemy, Blake is an easy target for Kelani. She catches her to apply an Olympic Slam, followed by a definitive split-legged moonsault. 1..2..3.
Winner: Kelani Jordan
We see a video recap of Myles Borne's rivalry with Lexis King.
Myles Borne is interviewed by Sarah Schreiber on the entrance ramp. Myles acknowledges that he still can't see clearly after the attack by Lexis King. That's why he asks the fans to help him during his match. He may not see and barely hear, but he will feel their vibrations and energy. The audience responds strongly. "Do you feel that, Sarah? Let's go!", exclaims Myles before heading to the ring.
Blindfold Match
Lexis King vs. Myles Borne
Both men put a black hood over their heads. Fans try to guide Myles while Lexis launches attacks into the air. Both men collide. They soon start throwing several attacks, but none hit their opponent. Finally, they manage to grab each other. They struggle as they reach one of the corners. King feels he has his opponent cornered, whom he tries to hit, but Borne is no longer there.
Myles surprises Lexis with a dropkick. Lexis tries to gain momentum on the ropes, but ends up falling to ringside. King throws a punch, hitting one of the posts. Lexis stumbles into the metal stairs. Myles follows the sound of the hits to go down to ringside and locate King, whom he throws against the audience barrier. The action returns to the ring, where King applies a dropkick to nothing.
King catches Myles to apply a slam. After that, he jumps with an elbow drop, but lands on the canvas. Now it's Myles who hits the canvas after executing a knee drop. The referee dodges a superkick from Lexis. Both men meet again in the center of the ring. Myles catches King by an arm. Without releasing him, he applies several clotheslines.
King corners Borne in one of the corners. The referee intervenes to separate him from his opponent. Confused, Lexis launches an attack that ends up blinding the official. King takes off the hood to locate Myles, whom he hits with a low blow. Lexis puts the hood back on to finish off Borne with The Coronation. After that, he covers his opponent. The referee, more or less recovered, throws himself to the canvas to make the count. 1..2..3.
Winner: Lexis King
Charlie Dempsey approaches a concerned Wren Sinclair. She asks him how he can be so calm when she still hasn't found a partner for tonight. Dempsey smiles, informing her that he has found one for her. Kendal Grey appears on the scene to introduce herself as Sinclair's partner. Charlie points out that Kendal impressed him in her match two weeks ago, although she can still improve. In fact, Grey agrees to receive lessons from a true professional like him. Grey denies it, indicating that they only talked about helping Wren. "We're going to kick their butts, okay?", says Grey to an excited Sinclair, who heads to the ring. "Liar!", exclaims Kendal as she hits Charlie's chest. Grey follows her partner. "Okay, he has a good chop," says a sore Dempsey before going after them.

We see Sol Ruca, Zaria, and Lola Vice doing their makeup before tonight’s match. Sol hands Lola a special t-shirt with the phrase “ZaRuca Vice City.” Vice thanks them for it. Zaria is eager to face their opponents tonight. Jaida Parker approaches Vice. She doesn’t want to hear what Parker has to say, having already beaten her in a match. Parker assures her she’s not here to argue, only to congratulate her on her victory at NXT Heatwave. Lainey Reid, Kali Armstrong, Kale Dixon, Uriah Connors, and Andre Chase watch the scene unfold in the background. Lash Legend joins the conversation to mock Jaida. Lash believes so many defeats have softened her. Parker, on the other hand, thinks Legend hasn’t had enough humiliation after Nia Jax kicked her ass. That said, she makes it clear that Lash is delusional if she thinks she can handle her. “Oh, Jaida Parker, don’t play like that,” says Dixon before getting shoved by Lash. Jaida smiles as she walks away. Soon, her face turns to disgust when she sees Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo courting Arianna Grace. Zaria lifts Lola in her arms to use her as a weight as the segment comes to an end.
We return to the ring, where Ricky Saints is still celebrating. Ricky steps up to the camera to deliver a message. “Oba Femi, I’m coming for you, man. Don’t forget it,” says Saints. Suddenly, “The Ruler’s” theme hits the arena. We see the NXT Champion walking backstage, heading toward the ring.
We come back from commercials to see both men in the ring. Saints points out that everyone backstage has said Oba’s reign is starting to weigh on him, and based on what we saw at NXT Heatwave, he can believe it. But everything must come to an end. Femi won’t be “The Ruler” forever. That’s why on September 27, at No Mercy, he wants Oba to look him straight in the eyes — the same ones where Femi once claimed to see nothing — because in them, he’ll see the man who will end his reign.
Femi admits he wasn’t honest. He did see something in Ricky’s eyes. He saw fear. “The Ruler” congratulates him on his nickname “Absolute” and the fact that his career will reach new heights when they meet with Destiny at No Mercy. “That day I’ll prove to you that you’re not special. When you face me, you’ll become an ordinary man. Because that’s what The Ruler does. When people challenge me, I show them the true levels of their own talent. I make the exceptional become mediocre. In your case, I’ll make the absolute become absolutely mediocre,” says the Nigerian.
DarkState interrupt the segment from the crowd
Dion Lennox says it’s time to put an end to this. Ricky and Oba can argue about who will carry the NXT Championship, but it’s them, DarkState, who run this place. And their Tag Team Championships are proof of that. Osiris Griffin believes Femi and Saints should already know what this is all about, so he gives them two options: leave the ring, or they’ll use force. Griffin suggests Saints ask Oba what it feels like to take a beating from DarkState. Shaquon Shugars adds that he could also ask Hank Walker and Tank Ledger after what happened to them at Heatwave. The four faction members surround the ring. “I choose the second option,” says Ricky before throwing the mic to the mat. Oba drops his championship. Both men get ready to face their enemies. They waste no time storming the ring. The fight breaks out. DarkState use their numbers advantage to take control.
Hank Walker and Tank Ledger rush to the rescue!
The former tag champs join Oba and Ricky. Together, they manage to drive the faction out of the ring. The faces dare the heels to come back for more, but Shugars calms his partners down to avoid acting out of anger. This brings the segment to an end.
We see a promotional video for the arrival of WWE Speed in NXT. Matches will keep their classic structure: three-minute time limits, except for title bouts, which will last five minutes.
Once the video ends, Ava announces the participants for the women’s tournament kicking off on September 2: Candice LeRae (SmackDown), Lainey Reid (NXT), Xia Brookside (TNA Wrestling), and Faby Apache (Lucha Libre AAA). The tournament winner will face Sol Ruca for the WWE Women’s Speed Championship at NXT No Mercy.
Alba Fyre (with Chelsea Green, Piper Niven, and Ethan Page) vs. Tyra Mae Steele (with Tavion Heights)

Alba tries to catch Mae off guard with a superkick, but Tyra dodges and rolls her up. 1..2..3.
Winner: Tyra Mae Steele
Chelsea attacks Steele from behind right after the match. Green grabs her by the hair to throw her out of the ring. Tavion approaches the Canadian to scold her. “What are you doing!? What’s your problem!?” shouts Heights. Chelsea tries to slap him, but Tavion grabs her hand. Page storms into the ring and hits Heights in the back with his North American Championship. “All Ego” unleashes a barrage of punches on Tavion before knocking him out with a Twisted Grin. Meanwhile, Alba and Piper force Tyra to watch, unable to do anything. Ethan pulls out a Canadian flag to cover Heights. Page and Chelsea pose over their country’s flag with their right hands on their hearts. This ends the segment.
Hank Walker and Tank Ledger go to Ava’s office to ask for a match against DarkState. The General Manager informs them the faction already requested that match. Hank and Tank prepare to leave, satisfied, but Ava stops them. She states that it will be a tag team match involving Ricky Saints and Oba Femi at DarkState’s request. The former champions accept the decision, as a win over their enemies would bring them closer to reclaiming the Tag Team Championships. Ledger and Walker thank Ava before leaving.
Sarah Schreiber interviews Fatal Influence backstage. Jacy Jayne accuses The Elegance Brand of having stolen the Knockouts World Championship from her at NXT Heatwave. However, nothing can change the fact that she was the first woman to hold both the top titles in NXT and TNA, proving she can carry two brands at once. Jazmyn Nyx regrets that they lost a title, but now that the WWE Women’s Speed Championship is in NXT, she’s found a solution. Nyx plans to win the title and bring it to the faction. "Us? There’s no us. I lost that championship, but I was never pinned. And if anyone gets a shot at the WWE Speed Championship, it’s obviously Fallon,” says Jayne. Jazmyn points out she’s never been a champion, unlike her teammates. “There’s a reason for that,” says Jacy. Frustrated, Nyx reminds her that nobody believed Jacy would win a title, let alone two. “Alright Jazmyn.
