Oba Femi to defend the NXT Championship against Ricky Saints at No Mercy 2025

The road to WWE No Mercy has begun to take shape. In the recent edition of NXT, the NXT Championship match was confirmed: Oba Femi will defend his title against Ricky Saints, who earned the opportunity to challenge him after defeating Josh Briggs in a great match during the show.

The event started with a tense confrontation between Ricky Saints and Josh Briggs. Saints had come out to the ring to ask Oba Femi to show up, but instead was interrupted by Briggs, who deemed him unworthy of an opportunity. General Manager Ava stopped the confrontation and, citing Je'Von Evans' absence, announced that the winner of the match between Saints and Briggs would become Femi's next opponent.

During the match, Josh Briggs tried to impose his power from the beginning, tossing Ricky Saints around, controlling him with a strong headlock, and even blocking a Tornado DDT to counter with a Black Hole Slam. The action continued at ringside, where Briggs kept punishing his opponent, but Saints managed to recover and launch a series of attacks that unbalanced his opponent.

In the final moments, both men exchanged blows and high-impact maneuvers. Saints went for a flying crossbody, but Briggs countered with a chokeslam. However, Ricky  dodged a final attack to connect a spectacular Salida del Sol, followed by a definitive Tornado DDT that sealed the victory.
