One of the main protagonists of All Elite Wrestling is currently recovering after undergoing a scheduled surgery. Swerve Strickland underwent surgery this Wednesday to repair a meniscus tear that he had been dealing with since 2019, an injury that had recently been incorporated into AEW's storylines.

The company used this circumstance at the Forbidden Door event, where an attack on his knee was staged to justify the wrestler's imminent absence. Strickland, for his part, reassured fans by posting a brief but clear message on his social media: Success, accompanied by a photo on Instagram showing him with his knee bandaged.

In London, Strickland faced Kazuchika Okada for the Unified AEW Championship. After retaining the title, Okada targeted his rival's injured knee, before Wardlow made his return and officially joined the Don Callis Family.

At the moment, the exact recovery time needed for Strickland has not been revealed. His absence coincides with that of Will Ospreay, another of AEW's top names who is also out of action and awaiting surgery after Forbidden Door.

On the other hand, All Elite Wrestling could soon regain another of its top stars. As reported this week, Orange Cassidy could return to action sooner than expected.
