After the incredible weekend at Forbidden Door London, Darby Allin returned to headline a major event on AEW Dynamite. In a brutal match where pinfalls counted anywhere, Allin faced off against Death Riders member Claudio Castagnoli at the iconic 2300 Arena in Philadelphia.
The action started immediately, as Darby surprised Claudio with an attack from backstage while he was making his entrance. The fight moved to the backstage areas of the arena, where Castagnoli took advantage by throwing Darby onto chairs with a shopping cart and smashing a TV by slamming it against his opponent. Back in the audience area, Darby launched himself with a Suicide Dive, a Dropkick, and climbed a column in the 2300 Arena to hit Castagnoli with his Coffin Drop from above.
Once in the ring, Castagnoli continued his dominance, covering the ring with broken chairs and tables, even crashing Darby onto the remains of the commentary table for a two-count. However, Allin fought back by surprising Claudio with a Guillotine Lock. Although Castagnoli managed to break free and take him down, the brutality escalated when the Death Riders' wrestler executed an Avalanche Gutwrench Suplex onto the pile of chairs, but the count only reached two.
In the final moments, Castagnoli crashed Darby into a table in the corner, which didn't break on the first impact. The Swiss wrestler didn't hesitate and destroyed it with a Powerbomb, but Allin refused to give up. Seizing the distraction, Darby charged at Claudio into the exposed corner post, hitting a Code Red and a Coffin Drop. Without hesitation, Allin returned to the corner to leap into a second Coffin Drop, finally securing the victory and leaving Castagnoli lying in the ring.
