Diamond Dallas Page has shared a message of reassurance after going through a health scare. The WWE Hall of Fame member, who is currently 69 years old, revealed that last week he experienced an episode of atrial fibrillation and had to undergo a cardioversion to stabilize his heart. The procedure was successful and, as he confessed, he has already resumed his stretching routine.
"Minutes after waking up from a successful cardioversion, I was already stretching. My wife, Payge McMahon, told me: 'Can you at least rest for 24 hours?' Last week I went into atrial fibrillation. I usually wear a heart monitor when I train, but for some reason that day I wasn't wearing it. I pushed myself too hard, felt weird, dizzy, and with a racing heart... and here we are," he said.
"This is the second time in three years that I go through this. Next month I will have an ablation and everything should go well. I promise I will never train again without a monitor or without my Apple Watch. And if you are over 50 years old or have a slightly enlarged heart, you should use one too," DDP wrote on social media.
Despite the incident, the attitude of the three-time WCW World Champion has been positive. The creator of the DDP Yoga program used his experience to raise awareness among his followers about the importance of listening to the body and taking care of health, especially after a certain age.
Diamond Dallas Page, a WCW icon during the late nineties and a member of the 2017 WWE Hall of Fame class, continues to show that his fighter mentality goes beyond the ring. Since the creation of his program, he has helped many well-known wrestlers recover, especially in the later stage with legends like Lex Luger.
