Chris Jericho has been in the news in recent weeks after the wrestler himself hinted at his desire to return to WWE. This could happen at the beginning of 2026, as Jericho's current contract with All Elite Wrestling expires in December.

If we add to this his prolonged absence from the company's television programming and the fact that fans have turned their backs on him in the last year, it seems normal that a return to what was once his home could be possible in the very near future. However, Tony Khan does not think the same way. This was explained when asked about the topic at the media conference prior to ROH Death Before Dishonor.

"I would never be where I am in AEW without Chris Jericho, nor would we be in a position where I could have bought ROH. I am very grateful to Chris. I value him very much and I would love for him to come back. He has been a great star for us since the beginning of AEW and also of ROH. If the right time comes, hopefully, I would love to have Chris back. I consider him an exceptional person. Chris Jericho will always have the highest recognition from me, from AEW, and from ROH. He has been a great ambassador, leader, and friend to all of us. Chris Jericho is a fundamental part of our company here," Khan said.

Chris Jericho is one of the most veteran wrestlers in All Elite Wrestling and one of the key figures who were present and active in the early days of the company. In fact, Jericho became the first AEW World Champion, which helped promote the new brand internationally.

Throughout these six years, "The Nine" has been part of numerous stories and rivalries as his record and repertoire of characters continued to grow. His last match took place at AEW Dynasty, where he lost the ROH World Championship to Bandido.

Since then, he has been absent from the company's television programming, which currently has no creative plans for the wrestler. He, on the other hand, has taken the time to attend to his commitments outside of professional wrestling, such as his band Fozzy and his podcast.
