This evening a new episode of Friday Night SmackDown has been held, this time from the LDLC Arena in Lyon, France. The show featured several matches and moments of interest, highlighting the United States Championship match between Sami Zayn and Solo Sikoa, which took place in the main event of the show.
As expected, Solo Sikoa arrived accompanied by Talla Tonga, JC Mateo, and Tonga Loa. They caused trouble, but Jimmy Uso and Jacob Fatu intervened to deal with them and take them away, leaving the two fighters alone in the ring. Sami Zayn was close to victory at this point after hitting the Blue Thunder Bomb.
The match intensified from this moment on, with both competitors trying to hit their finishing moves. Finally, Zayn dodged a blow from Sikoa and delivered the Helluva Kick. The Canadian applied a second Helluva Kick to knock out Sikoa and secure the victory and the Championship.
With this win, Sami Zayn ends Solo Sikoa's 62-day reign. It is the first time Sami Zayn has won this title.
The rivalry between Sami Zayn and the members of MTF has been ongoing for several weeks. The Canadian wrestler has been a tough challenge for Solo Sikoa and his crew, achieving significant victories in recent weeks, including the one against Solo Sikoa on August 8th.
Two weeks ago, Jimmy Uso, Jacob Fatu, and Sami Zayn defeated Solo Sikoa and MFT on SmackDown. Last week, The Street Profits (Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins) defeated JC Mateo and Tonga Loa in a match where Sami Zayn intervened to prevent the interference of Solo Sikoa and Talla Tonga.
