This evening a new episode of Friday Night SmackDown was held, this time from the LDLC Arena in Lyon, France. The show featured several matches and highlights, with the standout being the singles match between Alexa Bliss and Chelsea Green.
Originally, WWE had confirmed a Women's Tag Team Championship match between Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair against Alba Fyre and Piper Niven. However, before the show started, Nick Aldis announced that Chelsea Green would replace Niven. The story took another turn when, during the show, Flair was heading to the ring but was attacked by The Green Regime, leading us to a commercial break.
After the commercials, Alexa Bliss faced Chelsea Green in a singles match. Flair was taken backstage and the commentary team mentioned they would have more information on her condition later. Bliss had to deal with Piper Niven and Alba Fyre, who accompanied Green. Despite the odds, the match ended with Bliss surprising Green with a rollup to secure the victory by a three-count.
Following the match, The Green Regime attacked Alexa Bliss. Charlotte Flair made her return to the stage, this time wearing a special knee brace and visibly limping, hinting that the real issue behind WWE's change of plans was her, not Piper Niven. Flair ended up falling to the heels.
It's worth noting that Charlotte Flair suffered a serious injury to her left knee, the same one protected on SmackDown, in late 2023, which forced her to be out of action for over a year.
