Rusev made his return to WWE in April of this year, marking one of the most anticipated comebacks of the company. Since then, he has maintained a low profile, although he remains one of the most eye-catching stars of the company.
In a recent interview with Denise Salcedo, the Bulgarian wrestler talked about the changes he has noticed in WWE since his return, the alliance with Netflix, and his departure from AEW. Rusev confessed that he was surprised by the atmosphere he has found in this new stage of the company: "It was a pleasant surprise to see how WWE has grown. Every night the arenas are full, even with sold-out tickets. It wasn't like this before, and it's incredible to witness".
Regarding the locker room, Rusev considers the current one to be the best he has been in, comparing both his stages in WWE and AEW. "I see a lot of young talent, hungry. It's the best locker room I've had in my entire career. I love being here, and I see a lot of potential for me... and to crush more than one in the ring."
He also expressed gratitude for the visibility provided by the new partnership with Netflix: "Now, my parents can watch me at home without having to pirate anything, which is great."
Regarding his departure from All Elite Wrestling, Rusev assured that his time there was a growth process: "I was there for a few years, I hit many, and I gained more confidence than I had before in WWE. Everything I learned from John Cena, Big Show, and other greats, I put to the test in AEW. After that, I saw that I was the best there and decided to return, because my goal remains the same: to become the WWE World Champion".
Rusev will be one of the main stars of WWE Clash in Paris, an event that will take place this evening in Paris, France. He will face Sheamus in a Donnybrook Match, a fight with rules in the style of the Irish wrestler.
