AJ Lee’s return gains momentum after WWE Clash in Paris

In the main event of WWE Clash in Paris 2025, Seth Rollins retained the Heavyweight World Championship with the help of his wife, Becky Lynch. Lynch delivered a low blow to CM Punk, allowing Rollins to win the match. This controversial ending has sparked rumors about a possible return to WWE of Punk's wife, AJ Lee.

According to a report from Fightful Select, sources within the company confirm that the name of AJ Lee has been mentioned in numerous internal proposals. Although Lee had not shown interest in returning to the ring in the last decade, those proposals are no longer dismissed as easily as they used to be. While it cannot be confirmed if Lee's return is in progress, sources claim that there have been more recent developments than in previous years.

Those who worked with her on the show Heels commented that, although she felt nervous about returning to the ring for filming, once she did, it was as if she had never left. A high-ranking WWE executive said there are no concerns about her time away from the ring, in part because she seems to be "just leaving television at all times," and because of her connection with CM Punk, who also successfully returned after a long absence.

Since her retirement from wrestling in 2015, AJ Lee has maintained a very active career outside the ring. The former wrestler published her memoir, Crazy Is My Superpower, which became a New York Times bestseller. She has also ventured into scriptwriting and comics, contributing to series like GLOW and Dungeons & Dragons, and has worked as an executive producer for the company WOW (Women of Wrestling).
