Wrestlepalooza is the next big premium event from WWE and will take place on September 20th at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana, a venue with a capacity for over 18,000 spectators.
WWE put tickets on sale a couple of weeks ago, coinciding with the event confirmation, and the reception has been very positive. It has been reported this week that 10,000 out of the initially available 11,189 tickets have already been sold. For this type of shows, the venue usually has an approximate capacity of 15,000 people, as part of the space is allocated for the stage setup. The last time the company visited the Gainbridge Fieldhouse was on January 31, 2024, with a SmackDown show, where they managed to gather 12,433 attendees.
One of the highlights of the Wrestlepalooza ticket sales is the minimum price per seat. Currently, the cheapest one costs $130.15, a relatively high amount less than two weeks before the show.
Despite the anticipation surrounding Wrestlepalooza, the card only has one confirmed match so far: IYO SKY vs. Stephanie Vaquer for the WWE Women's World Championship. However, it is expected that this Friday, on Friday Night SmackDown, we will know at least one of the most important matches of the show, which could well be the rumored showdown between Brock Lesnar and John Cena.
On the other hand, there is strong speculation about AJ Lee's return to action. In that case, everything indicates that she will team up with CM Punk, her real-life husband, to face Becky Lynch and Seth Rollins. The Man officially joined the leader of The Vision at Clash in Paris and intimidated CM Punk on Raw Monday. Punk himself hinted afterwards that he would appear on SmackDown this Friday and hinted that he would reveal a big surprise, which could well be the announcement of AJ Lee's return.
WWE wants to kick off its new journey with ESPN with a memorable event, and the best way to do it is by presenting a card loaded with names and anticipation. All the mentioned names will help in ticket sales.
