The new live action movie of Street Fighter has already started filming. And its cast will be composed of many familiar faces from the combat sports industry, including wrestling. Over the past few months, the names of some of the actors who will be part of the new installment of Capcom's popular video game saga have been leaked. Names that have finally been officially confirmed by Paramount Pictures through a statement.

Legendary Pictures and Capcom have just launched a cinematic Shoryuken with their new live-action adaptation of the iconic video game franchise Street Fighter, which will hit theaters -in IMAX format- on October 16, 2026.
This will be the first film distributed under Legendary's new global agreement with Paramount Pictures. Currently in production, the film aims to pay homage to the arcade spirit of the nineties, with tokens and combos, but updated for a new generation of fans.
Set in the year 1993, estranged fighters Ryu (Andrew Koji) and Ken Masters (Noah Centineo) are recruited by the mysterious Chun-Li (Callina Liang) to participate in the upcoming World Warrior Tournament: a brutal clash of fists, destiny, and fury. But behind this tournament lies a deadly conspiracy that will force them to face each other... and the demons of their past. And if they don't... GAME OVER!
The film is directed by Kitao Sakurai (The Eric Andre Show, Bad Trip) and promises to bring arcade action to the big screen with Hadoukens, spinning kicks, and all your favorite characters.

Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns were recently taken off WWE television programming under the pretext of a medical leave after being brutally attacked by Drew McIntyre and The Vision, respectively. Their returns to the screen are expected once they finish their participation in the movie.
