In a special edition of SmackDown broadcasted from Chicago, John Cena said goodbye to the blue brand. The event, which featured great moments and matches, saw Cena deliver an emotional speech and have a great match against Sami Zayn with the United States Championship on the line.

The match provided great moments, including several new moves in Cena's arsenal that paid tribute to some of his old rivals. However, at the climax of the encounter, Brock Lesnar appeared and cost the 17-time world champion the victory.

Brock Lesnar first attacked Sami Zayn with an F-5, and then delivered a double dose of his signature move to John Cena. The attack left Cena lying on the mat, while Lesnar walked away smiling backstage, and later Lesnar himself confirmed that he would see John at Wrestlepalooza, officially announcing the long-awaited match.

After tonight, John Cena has only seven more appearances left before his retirement from the ring. His next stop is Wrestlepalooza, an event that will take place on September 20th at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana, where he will face a very dangerous opponent.
