The Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) presented a new edition of its traditional Viernes Espectacular from the Arena México in Mexico City on September 5, 2025. The event, broadcasted on the company's YouTube channel for membership subscribers, featured a card full of action, heated rivalries, and key moments leading up to the 92nd Anniversary.
One of the main highlights of the evening was the Phase 1 of the Copa Independencia 2025. The participating teams were Gemelos Diablo, Galeón Fantasma, Bárbaros, and Dragones. After overcoming their rivals in a demanding tournament, Difunto and Barboza from Galeón Fantasma emerged victorious in the final against the Dragones, securing their spot in the grand final of the competition.
With this victory, Galeón Fantasma will await the winner of Phase 2, whom they will face in the final of the Copa Independencia during the CMLL 92nd Anniversary, set to take place on September 19 at the Arena México.

- Yutani defeated Capitán Suicida.
- 2 out of 3 Falls: Herederos (Felino Jr., Hijo de Stuka Jr., and El Cobarde) beat Brillante Jr., Magia Blanca, and Dulce Gardenia (2-1).
- 2 out of 3 Falls: La Catalina & Chicas Indomables (Lluvia and La Jarochita) defeated Zeuxis, Persephone, and Reyna Isis (2-1). After the match, Zeuxis and La Catalina agreed to face each other one-on-one next week.
- Soberano Jr. appeared alongside former San Francisco 49ers player Alfredo Gutiérrez, with whom he exchanged masks and jerseys. Soberano's return to action was also announced.
- Copa Independencia 2025 - Seeding Battle Royal (Phase 1): Elemental and Dragón de Fuego defeated Gemelo Diablo I and Barboza.
