Bryan Danielson begins a new stage in his career within All Elite Wrestling. Starting this Wednesday, September 10, the former world champion will be part of the commentary team for AEW Dynamite permanently. The news has been confirmed by Tony Khan through X, although it has not been specified whether a four-voice team will be maintained or if there will be adjustments to the current lineup consisting of Excalibur, Taz, and Tony Schiavone.
Danielson had already had an approach to the microphones in the past, highlighting his work at the commentary table during the event AEW & NJPW: Forbidden Door, where he received praise for his analytical style and his ability to convey the psychology of the match to the viewer. His full-time incorporation reinforces the idea that AEW seeks to provide more technical depth and credibility to its broadcasts.
The American Dragon concluded his full-time wrestling career in October 2024 when he lost the AEW World Championship. At 44 years old, Danielson has left the door slightly open to future appearances in the ring, although he assures that he is satisfied with everything he has achieved.
With the last six months of my career suffering so much pain, I thought: 'I think I'm ready to stop.' I am very fulfilled with my career, with my life, and I can still be connected to professional wrestling, which is something I love to this day.
The premiere of his new role will take place on a stage with a lot of history: the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, known in the past as the legendary ECW Arena. This Dynamite will mark the end of AEW's residency at the venue and, at the same time, the beginning of a special chapter in Danielson's career, who will now lend his voice to narrate and analyze the action from the broadcast table.
