During SmackDown, WWE confirmed the lineup for the upcoming event with Lucha Libre AAA, Worlds Collide Las Vegas. However, fans quickly noticed an error in the promotional image. In the graphic of an eight-man match, a photo of the original La Parka wrestler, now known as LA Park, was used instead of the New Parka who will be participating in the event, causing great confusion among fans.
Through his social media, LA Park clarified that, although the company used his image for the event, he will not be participating and that it was all a mistake. In a post that went viral, LA Park explained: "You see how they always put me to confuse people, but it's not me. Well, the one in the photo is me, but I'm not going."
The confusion caused by the WWE poster for Worlds Collide sparked a heated debate among fans. Many speculated that the company did it on purpose to generate interest and give the impression that LA Park or one of his sons would be participating in the event. The veteran wrestler confirmed that it will not be the case and, in an additional comment, mentioned that he prefers to wrestle in his country rather than in a foreign company.
The original La Parka at 59 years old, has had a very successful career both in Mexico and abroad, including a period of exclusivity with WCW. However, while he was away from Mexico, his iconic character was assigned to another wrestler. This sparked a legal battle that, consequently, forced him to change his name to LA Park, as we currently know him.
