This confrontation led to a match that was confirmed on the most recent WWE Raw. On the show, AJ Lee explained the reasons for her return and announced her first match in 10 years, which will take place at Wrestlepalooza.
During an emotional promo in the ring, AJ Lee addressed the fans, wearing the Women's Intercontinental Championship around her waist. The former wrestler apologized for her decade-long absence, explaining that she had been focusing on a personal journey of mental health during that time. However, her emotional speech was interrupted by the champion, Becky Lynch, who appeared on the ramp to confront her. Amid boos, "The Man" called out Lee for carrying her championship, stating that she didn't deserve to have it.
The confrontation escalated when AJ Lee sarcastically apologized to Becky Lynch for the hit she delivered on Friday and removed the belt, placing it in the center of the ring. This was a clear provocation for Lynch to come up and retrieve it, but the Irishwoman hesitated. The situation intensified even more with the unexpected appearance of Seth Rollins, who tried to mediate in the dispute and even stepped into the ring to pick up the belt, but AJ blocked his path.
As Seth Rollins yelled at AJ Lee in the ring, CM Punk entered the scene to try to surprise him with a GTS. Rollins managed to escape in time, storming off to ringside. From there, he accepted Lee's challenge, confirming the mixed tag team match for Wrestlepalooza. After the announcement, AJ Lee tossed the championship back to Becky Lynch, giving her a farewell kiss before doing so.
