A few days before All Out, AEW announced tonight on Dynamite the creation of a mini-tournament for the Unified Championship that will culminate at the company's next event in Canada. The tournament will feature the participation of Kazuchika Okada, who will defend his championship title.
The tournament for the unified title will have six wrestlers, and its first rounds will take place this Saturday at Collision. To advance to the next stage, Kazuchika Okada will face Michael Oku, while the member of the Don Callis Family, Konosuke Takeshita, will face Anthony Bowens.
Next Dynamite, in the special edition "September to Remember," will feature a clash between two of the best Mexican wrestlers: Máscara Dorada from CMLL and The Beast Mortos from La Facción Ingobernable. Both will face off with the aim of qualifying for the tournament final.
The wrestlers who manage to qualify will have a guaranteed match at AEW All Out, where in a 3-Way Match they will seek to win the Unified Championship. The title currently is held by Kazuchika Okada, who won it at All In Texas by defeating Kenny Omega.
