Last Monday, on Monday Night Raw, it was scheduled for Stephanie Vaquer to appear to sign her contract with IYO SKy to formalize her match at Wrestlepalooza for the WWE Women's World Championship. However, Vaquer was absent. Adam Pearce's announcement about her absence, plus the date of the Chilean wrestler's last match recorded in June, led to speculation that Vaquer was injured.
It seems that is the real reason for Stephanie Vaquer's absence. In the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer revealed that the Chilean was dealing with a minor injury, which led WWE to pull her from the show. "I was told it's something minor, nothing to worry about, and she will continue to wrestle. That came directly from the company," he noted.
Meltzer added that at the beginning of the week there was no certainty about the severity of the issue: "On Monday they weren't sure. I found out on Tuesday, asked what was happening, and they simply replied: 'Minor injury, she'll be at the premium event almost for sure'."
WWE, through Adam Pearce, confirmed that Stephanie Vaquer will be ready for Wrestlepalooza. In fact, on Tuesday she appeared on NXT to prepare for a match on the Homecoming episode on September 16 at Full Sail University. So far, everything indicates that the wrestler is still scheduled to face IYO SKY at the Indianapolis show.
